    Welsh Conservative leader Andrew RT Davies said his own seat on the South Wales Central regional list was "vulnerable" if the party picked up target constituencies such as Cardiff North and the Vale of Glamorgan.

    Responding to suggestions he could lose his seat, he said: "That's life.

    "I'll be at a livestock market on Saturday. There are plenty of people to fill my shoes."

    Liberal Democrat Brendan D’Cruz says if leader Kirsty Williams loses her seat tonight, it’s "pack up and go home time for the party".

    If the party gets its deposit back in Blaenau Gwent, after getting fewer than 1,000 votes last time, it’s "time to pop the champagne".

    A projection for ITV Wales based on an opinion poll carried out today suggests Labour will remain the largest party.

    The projection suggested Labour would win 27 seats - three fewer than 2011 - with Plaid Cymru second on 12 seats, the Conservatives on 11, UKIP winning eight and the Liberal Democrats two.

    If turnout is as low as expected, the key figure to watch out for is 38%.

    Anything below that would be the worst ever turnout at an assembly election.

    Anything above 46% would be the best ever turnout, beating the inaugural election in 1999.

    The figure at the last election in 2011 was 41.4%.
