    The websites for Canada's Citizenship and Immigration department have crashed, Twitter users have found.

    People who tried to access the site couldn't load the page, when they tried around 22:30 EST (03:30 GMT).

    Prior to election night, many celebrities and people online had claimed that if Trump were to win, they would head north of the border. 

    But Business Insider still has a helpful guide for anyone fleeing northwards.

    Recent winning margins have been extremely narrow - in 2008 Obama won by just 0.3 percentage points, but Republican Mitt Romney captured it by two points in 2012.

    California, which was once a solid red state voting Republican from 1968-88, has voted Democrat since 1992.

    Hawaii is a solidly 'blue' state, which has only voted Republican twice since it became part of the United States in 1959.

    The AP news agency is projecting a Trump win in the all-important swing state of Florida.

    The Sunshine state's 29 electoral votes are crucial to the fortunes of any presidential contender. This swing state voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, but Bush won it in the preceding elections - in 2000 by just 537 votes.

    We're still awaiting a projection from ABC News.

    "While the Mexicans are watching and waiting, the currency isn’t holding back. 

    "With Trump currently in the lead, the Mexican peso has fallen more than 10% - that’s the biggest drop since the currency devalued during the country’s devaluation crisis in 1994. 

    "Mexicans were already worried about what a Trump win might mean for business opportunities and economic growth but the effects are taking place before victory has been called."
