    Apparently, there will be 16,000 bottles of champagne popped at tonight's ceremony according to Brit organisers.

    They also say there will be 1000 sticks of rock, 3000 glow sticks and 700 cupcakes at the event.

    And with 10,000 bottles of beer and 4,000 bottles of wine, at least the losers will go home happy!

    Chvrches have been working the red carpet. The band reckon they've "a snowball's chance in hell" of winning best breakthrough act but they're excited to be here.

    "Normally when we have a day off we spend it in my house watching the telly," said singer Lauren Mayberry.

    "We started off as a writing project, so people asking us to do creative things is a lot more exciting.

    "But that doesn't mean it isn't nice to be asked to the big shiny things. I'm definitely going to come and I'm definitely going to look at a lot of stuff with my mouth open.

    "But we'll probably be quite happy to lurk back into the darkness after."

    Mark Ronson (who's here with wife Josephine de La Baume) has told us he couldn't predict the success of Uptown Funk.

    "There's a thing that happens when you're in the studio where everybody gets a little excited in their heads and they're like 'oh this is going to be a big smash'. But you don't really know until you start to play it for other people."

    The song was originally scheduled to be released in January, which would have made it ineligible for the Brits - until Fleur East performed it on the X Factor and Ronson's label rush-released his version.

    He told us: "I just met Fleur for the first time and gave her a big hug and said thank you. The whole thing about this record has been insane."

    "I'm a bit of a joker and sometimes they don't quite get me. It's completely important. If anyone does a bad take, I want to be comfortable enough to tell them it was bad and they could do it better."

    Following his huge night at the Grammys earlier this month, where he won four awards, Sam Smith told us: "The pressure is not on. Truly, I believe the point of being an artist and making music is selling records and doing what I love. And that's what I'm doing."

I do these amazing things and I get tired, then I remember the awful things I used to do, working in bars and not having any breaks. It makes me remember how lucky I am."

    She said: "It's not important for me to win. I feel like I've already won being nominated. I remember last year and I was just a spectator at my record label's table, just watching Prince go past.

    "A year later, I'm here, just released my first album, and I've got two nominations. That's reason enough to celebrate."
