    Birmingham City Council dog wardens swapped fur for feathers when a striking green parrot was spotted behind Stechford swimming baths.Kelly Evans and Kerrie Quinn found two-year-old Echo on grassland near the leisure centre, then turned to Facebook to trace owner Courtney Murphy and reunite them.

    The mother of a boy from Walsall who lost his limbs after contracting meningitis B has said she'll fight for all children to be vaccinated against the infection.  

    Julie Tuckley has been campaigning for the meningitis B vaccine since Tommy, who's four, was diagnosed as a baby.

    The Department of Health says it has to prioritise those most at risk.

    The vaccination is available on the NHS in the first year of life, but only to children born from April 2015.

    The jury in the Akhtar Javeed murder trial have seen a map made by a man who has admitted being part of an armed robbery plot.

    The rough scribble shows the location of the office and the safe at Direct Source 3's warehouse in Digbeth, Birmingham.

    Sander van Aalten, 50, of Kyrwicks Lane, Birmingham, pleaded guilty conspiracy to rob the warehouse at an earlier hearing.

    Mr Javeed, who was the warehouse manager, was shot after refusing to open the safe.

    The trial continues.

    A murder jury has seen CCTV of alleged armed robbers arriving at a Birmingham warehouse where boss Akhtar Javeed was shot dead.

    It is believed the man who pulled the trigger has fled to Pakistan, the court has heard.

    Suraj Mistry and Lemar Wali, are on trial accused of murdering 56-year-old Javeed during the raid on the Direct Source 3 premises in Birmingham on 3 February. 

    Prosecutors have alleged Mr Mistry, 26, was one of two gunmen armed with pistols, while 19-year-old Mr Wali was a willing participant, sitting outside at the wheel of the getaway car.

    Both men deny murder - the trial at Birmingham Crown Court continues.

    A man's body has been found in Netherton, Dudley and his death is being treated as suspicious, say police.

    Officers were called to an address on Cradley Road at around 09.40 by the ambulance service. 

    A man in his 40s died at the scene.

    "If we raise enough money we'll get some proper lights and eventually it could look like Blackpool, in time," says one of the people behind a campaign to bring extra Christmas lights to Wolverhampton.

    People in Wednesfield have started a campaign online to raise money for extra festive lights on its high street.

    Simon Archer, from Hands on Wednesfield, says: "We want to give Wednesfield some credibility for its Christmas lights and make it look half decent."

    The official Christmas lights switch-on takes place on 24 November at 17:00.
