A court has heard how a van driver from the West Midlands fell asleep at the wheel causing the death of a Glasgow woman on the A74(M) near Lockerbie.
Stephen Clarke, 59, of Wednesdbury, admitted causing the death of Farzana Kousar, 39, by dangerous driving.
The High Court in Glasgow heard how his Mercedes Sprinter van drifted across the carriageway and killed her.
Judge Lord Boyd deferred sentence until 30 January at the High Court in Edinburgh and continued Clarke's bail.

The M6 northbound has re-opened following a crash that caused a fuel spillage.
Highways England said the collision involved two HGVs and a car, closing carriageway between J7 and J8.
A "hydro blaster" was used to help clear fuel off the road.
Barriers on two streets near Birmingham's German Christmas market will complement concrete bollards installed at the site several weeks ago, West Midlands Police says.
The force says the additional security measures - set for Temple Street and Bennetts Hill later - arrive following consultation with the council and emergency services in the wake of Monday's truck attack in Berlin.
Police say the extra security is not based on any new or emerging intelligence.
The security threat level nationally remains unchanged at "severe", meaning an attack is highly likely.
Supt Andy Parsons said: "Our policing tactics and security measures are being reviewed on a daily basis - we have a dedicated police response in place for the market and we, along with our partners, are working around the clock to keep Birmingham and our other cities as safe as can be."

The five-month-old tabby - whose distinctive markings have led officers to name her Angel - was terrified when she was found on Tuesday morning, the charity says.
She was found shivering in a plastic box by a member of the public in Dudley.
"Poor Angel is lucky she did not perish overnight," said RSPCA welfare officer Elaine Williams.
She added "when we were having a proper look at her we noticed that she had distinctive markings on her back which resemble wings, so it seemed only right to call her Angel - especially considering we are in the festive season".
A fight on a railway station platform left a woman needing hospital treatment for her injuries.
It began as a "disturbance", involving a man and woman, on a train between Birmingham New Street and Nuneaton last Sunday, British Transport Police said, external.
It escalated to a fight, officers said, at about 21.30 on the over-bridge between platform six and seven at Nuneaton Station.
A 28-year-old woman went to hospital for facial injuries. Two people have been bailed pending further enquiries.
A charity box has been stolen from a waiting room at Wolverhampton railway station.
It happened on Sunday (18 December) shortly after 18:00, British Transport Police says.
Officers have released an image of men to whom they wish to speak in connection with their investigation.
Police say the charity box was taken from the information desk in plain view of other passengers and as offenders made their way out of the station, a man asked for donations from passengers.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a car in Hednesford, police say.
The crash happened on Tuesday at the junction of Rugeley Road and Station Road.
Police say the 54-year-old died this morning in hospital.
