    G4S, the company that runs Birmingham prison, says it was "surprised" by last week's riots at the jail. 

    A fresh appeal has been launched into the disappearance of two boys who were last seen alive 20 years ago.

    And two youth football teams in Birmingham have been banned from wearing their new shirts, because they're sponsored by a tattoo parlour and a nightclub.

    A derelict pub in Oldbury is going to be fenced off because of safety concerns.

    Sandwell Council, external is taking the action after another fire at the former The Doll's House, in Newbury Lane.

    It says it's also trying to contact the owners to serve a notice on them calling for action for the building to be made safe.

    A young girl with cerebral palsy received the ultimate Christmas present when Wolves, external players clubbed together to give her £8,000 towards a life-changing operation.

    Four-year-old Jessie-Leigh Smith was born with the condition and her parents have been trying to raise £16,000 for an operation that could help her walk. 

    They had raised half the money themselves and Wolves players were so touched by Jessie-Leigh when she was a mascot for a game against Barnsley in September that they decided to stump up the rest of the cash between them.

    Depending on his country's progress, Maghoma could miss five Blues matches, starting with Nottingham Forest at home on 14 January.

    More than 460 prisoners have been moved out of Birmingham prison since the riot on Friday.

    The final figure is expected to be about 550, which represents one third of the total number of prisoners held there. 

    The accommodation, electrical and alarm systems are more badly damaged than was first thought.

    West Bromwich Albion, external defender Allan Nyom could be threatened with a Fifa ban for turning down a call-up to the Africa Cup of Nations. 

    He wants to keep his place rather than miss up to a month with Cameroon.

    He is one of seven Cameroon players who have said they do not want to go to the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on 14 January.
