Adrian Mason was on remand inside the jail last year.
The Ministry of Justice says new security measures are being put in place to stop drug abuse.
Quote MessageIt's a terrible state of affairs. There's no real control. People are walking around smoking weed, sitting in cells using mobile phones and organising drugs. Drugs are rife... it really is out of hand."

The biggest crowd at Molineux for more than a year is expected for the Saturday evening derby between Wolves and Aston Villa with a 17:30 kick-off.
Wolves head coach Paul Lambert has been keen to deflect all attention off the fact that he’s facing his old club and instead talk about his “exciting” team full of young players.
A more emotional edge to the game is likely, as both clubs were managed by Graham Taylor who passed away this week – he’ll be remembered in ceremonies before the game and both sets of supporters will no doubt be keen to express their admiration.
Follow online updates here. BBC WM will have a commentary focused on Villa on 95.6FM and DAB in Birmingham, and a Wolves-flavoured commentary on DAB in the Black Country.

The owner of a dog that was so emaciated RSPCA inspectors could not tell its breed has been given a prison sentence, the charity says.
The animal - a rottweiler, inspectors ascertained - had been neglected and living in a garden shed for three months.
So poor was his condition - crusty, sore skin and pus from his eyes - a vet had to put him down.
The RSPCA says owner Sandra Sangha, 42, of David Peacock Close, Tipton, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
At Birmingham Magistrates Court on 6 January, Sangha was, the charity says, given a 15-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, and disqualified from keeping animals for 10 years.
