    Businesses on the route of a planned 100-mile cycle ride say it will cost them thousands of pounds worth of lost trade. 

    Roads across Herefordshire and Worcestershire will be closed to traffic for the entire day.

    About 15,000 riders are expected to take part in Velo Birmingham in September, which will pass through places such as Belbroughton, Cutnall Green, Martley, Bromyard and Bewdley.

    The organisers and Worcestershire County Council say they will work with local people and businesses to minimise disruption.

    The Stourbridge MP says the community will do all it can to offer support following the stabbing of three family members at their home yesterday  which caused "absolute shock and horror".

    Margot James told the BBC she knew of the family through the local Conservative association. A man was critically injured in the attack and his wife and son killed - they have been named locally as Peter, Tracey and Pierce Wilkinson.

    The BBC understands a fourth family member, Peter and Tracey's daughter, a university student, was not at home when the stabbings happened.

    The Stoke City striker Saido Berahino says  the eight-week drugs ban he served  earlier this season came after his drink was spiked in a nightclub.

    Berahino did not play for former club West Brom between September and January, when he  joined Stoke for £12m.

    He claims the level of drugs found was "really low", which he says proves there was no intent on his behalf.  

    Berahino brought an end to his turbulent time at The Hawthorns by signing a five-and-a-half-year deal at Stoke on 20 January.

    Post mortem examinations are expected to take place on Saturday following the deaths of a woman and her son in a stabbing at their home yesterday.

    I've spoken to West Midlands Police this morning and I'm told the woman's husband and boy's father, named locally as Peter Wilkinson, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

    He was found by emergency services in the garden of the Stourbridge property with stab wounds to his chest and back.

    Mr Wilkinson's wife, named locally as Tracey Wilkinson died at the scene. Her son, named as Pierce Wilkinson, was pronounced dead at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

    A man remains in a critical condition in hospital with stab wounds after his wife and son were stabbed to death in Stourbridge. 

    The family, named locally as Peter and Tracey Wilkinson and their son, Pierce, were found with knife wounds at their home in Greyhound Lane in Norton yesterday morning.

    A Land Rover taken from the house was intercepted by West Midlands Police about 30 minutes later. 

    A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and wounding - he's still being questioned by police.

  14. School to advise parents on supporting children whose peer has been killed published at 18:00 British Summer Time 30 March 2017

    The school attended by a 13-year-old boy who died along with his mother following a stabbing this morning in the family home is to provide "parents with guidance on how to support their children".

    Redhill School in Dudley, which says it will open as normal tomorrow for all pupils, is also to provide "psychological first aid" to "pupils and staff ".

    Police remain in Stourbridge where a mother and her son were fatally stabbed this morning. 

    The father is in a critical condition in hospital.

    A neighbour who lives in Greyhound Lane on the opposite side to where the stabbings happened, said: "I didn't know the family but I knew the lady and she was lovely. I used to have parcels for her and she quite often asked me in and always offered me a cup of coffee."

    The dead woman has been named locally as Tracey Wilkinson.

    Here's the mangled bonnet of the Land Rover that crashed into a police car a short distance from where it was stolen - a Stourbridge home in which a family was stabbed this morning, leaving a mother and son dead and her husband fighting for his life.

    The vehicle was intercepted, police said, about 30 minutes after emergency services received a 999 call about the stabbings.

  18. 'Desperately sad' loss of 'really friendly' people stabbed in their home published at 17:19 British Summer Time 30 March 2017

    A neighbour of those killed and seriously injured in a stabbing at a house today has been sharing more information about the victims, two of whom she saw carried out on a stretcher.

    A woman, named locally as Tracey Wilkinson, died at the scene. Her husband, named as Peter Wilkinson, is in a critical condition in hospital. Their son, 13, is dead.

    A neighbour of people stabbed today at their family home has said she saw two people come out of the Stourbridge property on stretchers.

    The woman, who did not want to be named, said she knew a "serious" incident was unfolding when she saw "emergency services were running".

    The neighbour said her husband saw a police car pursuing another vehicle. Police reported earlier today that they had intercepted a Land Rover Discovery that was stolen from outside the property where the stabbings happened.
