    Three people believed by police to be a couple and their son are being treated for "very serious injuries".

    The ambulance service says , external staff treated a man, woman and boy for stab wounds at Greyhound Lane in Norton, Stourbridge.

    More now on this morning's breaking story...

    A spokeswoman for the ambulance service says it received a 999 call shortly after 08:00 to a house on Greyhound lane in Stourbridge where it treated three patients.

    Police said earlier they believed the three people were a man, woman and their son - they were suffering from stab wounds.

    Emergency services remain at the scene.

    One man has been arrested.

    A man in his 20s has been arrested after what police believe to be a couple and their son were found stabbed at their home in the Black Country.

    Police were called to a house in Greyhound Lane, Norton, Stourbridge, at about 08:00.

    A Land Rover stolen from outside the home was intercepted by West Midlands Police about 30 minutes later in Norton Road.

    A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of wounding.

    Three members of the same family have been found stabbed in their house in the Black Country.

    Police say a man, woman and boy sustained serious stab wounds , external  and understand them to be a couple and their son.

    Emergency services were called to a house in Greyhound Lane, Norton, Stourbridge, just after 08:00 this morning.

    More than 150 Birmingham streets have been missed on rubbish collection rounds this week. 

    Quinton, Kings Heath, Kings Norton and Bournville are among the places not to have bins emptied.

    Birmingham City Council has apologised and says it aims to catch up with any missed collections over the next few days.

    The budget airline Jet 2 will start flying from Birmingham airport to 22 destinations around Europe from today.

    The airline said it would create 300 jobs when it announced plans to come to Birmingham last year.

    Part of the M6 in Staffordshire had to be completely shut after a spillage of double cream in a tanker crash.

    Highways England says it was called just after 07:00 to the southbound side between junctions 10A and 10, near Featherstone.  , external

    Staff say a tanker and a lorry collided and double cream was spilt over the carriageway, leading to them shutting it to treat the spillage.

    Three lanes of the M6 were reopened at 07:30, external and Highways England say no-one was hurt in the crash.

    Travellers have moved on to a Birmingham park for the fifth time in less than a year.

    They first arrived on Selly Park, near Bournville, last summer and have returned periodically ever since. 

    A summit was held in the city last month to look at the problem of illegal camping on parks and other private land, which costs the council thousands of pounds in legal and clear up costs.

    A man from Birmingham has been charged with drug smuggling after allegedly attempting to bring 14kg of heroin with an estimated street value of £700,000 through Heathrow Airport.

    The 48-year-old, of Bordesley Green East, was stopped on 26 March at 20:50 after arriving on a flight from Pakistan.

    Border Force officers searched his bags and recovered the drugs.

    The accused is charged with attempting to import a class A drug. 

  18. Surgeon defends 'unnecessary' mastectomypublished at 17:48 British Summer Time 29 March 2017

    A surgeon is currently on trial charged with 20 counts of wounding with intent against nine women and one man relating to procedures he carried out between 1997 and 2011.

    Prosecutors allege Ian Paterson, 59, wrongly carried out a mastectomy on Patricia Welch, then 48.

    Mr Paterson, from Altrincham, Greater Manchester, told jurors at Nottingham Crown Court that Mrs Welch's "whole breast (was) active".

    Mrs Welch had been undergoing six-monthly check-ups at the Little Aston Hospital, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, after being told pre-cancerous cells had been found.    

    Mr Paterson, 59, told the court: "It's interesting to then compare it to the other information from the other breast - which is completely silent."  

    The surgeon denies the charges.
