    A former BBC radio presenter accused of indecent assault of underage boys says he stepped to one side to allow a younger stranger engage in a sex act with his wife because it "empowered" her.

    We will have more on the case against Tony Wadsworth and his wife, Julie, who have denied five counts of outraging public decency, which allege they engaged in sexual activity "against a tree" in view of others, with the alleged offences happening between July 1992 and June 1996.

    Mrs Wadsworth has pleaded not guilty to 11 charges of indecent assault, while her husband denies nine counts of the same offence.

    Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness has been suspended from all football-related activity for three weeks and fined £10,000 for re-tweeting a video with an insulting message on social media.

    Wyness retweeted a video of Villa being denied a penalty with a caption asking if referees had "disabilities".

    He admitted a Football Association charge that the comment was "abusive and/or insulting and/or improper".

    He deleted the tweet following the 1-1 draw with Brighton on 7 May and told the Birmingham Mail, external he was "both surprised and disappointed at the severity of the punishment" for what he described as an "honest mistake".

  14. Man arrested as police investigate family home machete attackpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 2 June 2017

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, external connected to the threatening of a family with a machete inside their Birmingham home.

    The 32 year old is in custody helping with inquiries after an appeal for information was shared "hundreds of time" among members of the public, according to West Midlands Police.

    The force say they still wish to speak to a second man (pictured) in connection with the incident.
