Six people receive treatment from emergency workers, including a girl, 10, hit by glass.
Read MoreA ceiling has collapsed at a banqueting venue during a school prom in Birmingham, leaving six people needing treatment from emergency workers.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said Al Miraj Banqueting Suite, on Wordsworth Road, Small Heath, was holding hundreds of people when it received 999 calls at about 20:00 last night.
Among those hurt was a 10-year-old girl whose face was cut by glass.
Others were treated for the effects of shock. A young boy given treatment for leg pain was taken to hospital.
Drivers using the M5 in the West Midlands can expect more than a year of delays due to major roadworks.
Highways England says it needs to repair the Oldbury Viaduct between junctions 1 and 2.
Amid anticipated delays, motorists have been given several tips and asked to consider working from home.
The next phase of the works is due to get under way.
