  1. Pub fatal stabbing: Up to 12 people involved in fightpublished at 09:04 British Summer Time 18 July 2017

    Police believe up to 12 people - most of whom were armed - were involved in disorder in which a 26 year old was fatally stabbed outside a pub in Digbeth earlier this month.

    Daniel Baird died at the Forge Tavern on 8 July.

    The BBC has learned that since 2014, councils across the West Midlands have spent more than £900,000 on legal costs and clean-up operations associated with travellers' illegal camps.

    I’ve been filming in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire and Herefordshire to see how a game of cat and mouse is being played out.

    Local authorities are trying to preserve public spaces while traveller groups are demanding they do more to provide permanent pitches.

  9. HS2 route beyond Birmingham confirmedpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    The final HS2 routes beyond Birmingham have been revealed for the Manchester and Leeds arms of the project.

    The routes, from Crewe to Manchester and from the West Midlands to Leeds, were laid out last November, external.

    Earlier, the government announced seven contracts worth nearly £7bn for engineering works between Birmingham and London.

  12. Victim sold damaged TV in car park fraudpublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 17 July 2017

    The police in Worcestershire are trying to trace a gang of three men who tricked a driver into buying a damaged TV, external in a motorway car park.

    The men approached the driver in the Frankley services car park on the M5 offering to sell him a boxed television for £250.

    The victim agreed only to find later that the TV inside the box was damaged.

    What will Brexit mean for our food? That's the question a group of senior UK academics are asking.

    Among them is Professor Tim Lang of City University, who says the EU provides the UK with 31% of its food.

    Peter Shirley, boss of Midland Chilled Foods in Willenhall, says many businesses are "waiting for the final deal" before deciding how they need to adapt. He adds some see Brexit as a major opportunity.

    Mr Lang told the Wake Up to Money programme there was disquiet across the food industry, saying many farmers, manufacturers and retailers were in the dark over how supply chains would be affected.

    It happened earlier this month outside The Forge Tavern.

    The sisters and brother of the 26 year old have made an appeal for help to find out who killed him.

    Two people have appeared at Birmingham Crown Court charged with the murder of James Brindley who was fatally stabbed on his way home in Aldridge last month.

    Aaron Kahrod, 20, from Walsall Road, Aldridge, and a 17-year-old boy were remanded and are next due to appear in court in September.
