    You've been giving your reaction to images of the Coventry station masterplan.

    The city council says the £82m scheme will transform the area and proposals will be submitted later this year.

    On the BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Facebook page, Matt Cattell posted, external: "I think it looks good and a much needed solution in an area that needs to be improved."

    Andy Knott added, external: "Good to see that something is being planned. Good to see increased parking."

    However Peter Naul wrote, external: "It is not needed. I use it every month and it is perfectly functional."

    And Mags Johnson added, external: "Have the council got money to spare? If so, leave the station alone and put our bin collections back to weekly."

  2. Injured rugby player who was told he would not walk stands for graduationpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

    Injured rugby player Zac France has achieved his goal of standing to receive his degree from the University of Worcester.

    Zac was left paralysed three years ago after being injured during a game and had managed a full recovery, despite being told he would never walk again.

    He temporarily lost the use of his legs following an assault in Cheltenham last weekend, but managed to stand during the ceremony at Worcester Cathedral.

  3. Fish in distress helped out by anglerspublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

    Anglers have been thanked for helping to save fish struggling for oxygen.

    The fish were spotted gasping near the surface of Leegomery pool in Telford on Wednesday and its estimated about 50 died.

    Some fishermen turned up with pumps to help aerate the pool.

    The Environment Agency arrived at the pool yesterday with pumps and hydrogen peroxide, to put oxygen back in and the fish are now breathing easily again.

    Chris Bainger from the EA said he believes the problem was caused by a reduction in the number of oxygen-generating plants and by people throwing bread into the water - which was breaking down and reducing the amount of oxygen in the pool.

    A motorcycist is in hospital with serious head and leg injuries after a collision with a car in Shropshire last night.

    The crash happened on the B4368 between Morville and Aston Eyre at 21:30.

  5. Boy arrested over attack on police officerpublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2017

    A police officer has been attacked after being called to reports of youths abusing staff and pupils at Leek County High School yesterday afternoon.

    Staffordshire Police said a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, causing criminal damage and a breach of the peace.

    He has since been released while investigations continue.

    Worcestershire's Moeen Ali has been ruled out of England's first two warm-up matches of their tour of Australia with a side strain.

    He's expected to return to full training by mid-November.

    The first test match against Australia is due to start in Brisbane on 23 November.

    A doctor at an RAF base, suspended for forming a relationship with one of her patients, told a tribunal her base was "a difficult environment to work in" because you have to treat friends and colleagues.

    Dr Julien Nash, who has been practising at RAF Cosford since 2008, said there is no alternative medical centre at the base and that "you can lose objectivity and it can become quite stressful".

    She said it was possible to see a patient 20 or 30 times a year.

    She said she realised a "line had been crossed" with her relationship and apologised for damaging the reputation of the medical profession.

    Dr Nash had referred herself to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service after a complaint was made by the patient's wife.

    A doctor at an RAF base who had a 10-month relationship with one of her patients has been given a three month suspension for misconduct.

    The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service said it took into account Dr Julien Nash's "excellent character", but said it should have been ended sooner.

    The relationship came to light after a complaint from the patient's wife.

    Dr Nash, a civilian GP at RAF Cosford, admitted the matters against her.

    Coventry Blaze play two teams just below them in the Elite League this weekend, Guildford Flames and Milton Keynes Lightning.

    Both teams joined the league at the start of the season, after leaving the English Premier League at the end of last season.

    Telford Tigers will travel to title-rivals Sheffield Steeldogs in the NIHL North 1 tomorrow, a team they narrowly beat on penalties at the start of the season. On Sunday they host Basingstoke Bison in the NIHL Cup.

    And Solihull Barons are away to both the Blackburn Hawks and the Nottingham Lions in the league.

    A former soldier has created a beer to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

    Jimmy Kenyon, who runs the Hereford Brewery, has created the Hope and Glory beer which he says is citrus in taste.

    Mr Kenyon has created beers for charities in the past, including Help for Heroes and has also supported the poppy appeal.

    He said he hoped the beer would raise thousands of pounds for the legion.

    A Birmingham MP has criticised the promotion of a Labour MP to the shadow cabinet last year after a young activist had raised concerns about his behaviour.

    Luton North MP Kelvin Hopkins has been suspended while an investigation into claims that he sent a suggestive text and acted inappropriately is carried out.

    Jess Phillips, chair of the Women's Parliamentary Labour Party and the MP for Birmingham Yardley, said his promotion seemed wrong and shouldn't have happened.

    Mr Hopkins has not commented on the claims which were published in the Telegraph shortly after his suspension was announced.

    The Chief Nurse at the Royal Stoke University Hospital says the pressure on beds this winter won't be solved by extra funding.

    The hospital trust has taken the decision to cancel routine operations for two weeks in January to help tackle overcrowding.

    Nurses leave is being restricted and 45 extra beds will be found.

    Armed youths launched a "targeted attack" on a shop in Birmingham last night, causing "significant damage", police say.

    Officers say two people were injured and they're still looking for all those involved.

    Shropshire's health service will probably have to find £150m to pay for changes to hospital services.

    The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust is proposing to have one emergency centre in the county and moving specialist women and children's services to Shrewsbury.

    Planned operations will move to Telford - but the cost is likely to be over £300m.

    The Trust's chief executive has told a meeting up to £150m could come from the government, but the rest will have to be raised locally.

    Telford and Wrekin councillors have raised fears about the long-term debt this could place the hospitals in.

    Michael Fabricant says he has no regrets about speaking candidly about his sexuality.

    On First Dates: Celebrity Special for SU2C last night the Conservative MP for Lichfield said most people think he is gay.

    "But when you're a Member of Parliament, if I came out and said what I am, which is probably bisexual, people would say 'he's greedy, he can't make up his mind'".

    Speaking to Alex Lester on BBC WM this morning he said he'd come to the conclusion that many men are bisexual "but don't necessarily do anything about it".

    "I think only computers are either one or zero - binomial - you know, one thing or another, everybody has shades of grey."

    The MP for said he'd done the programme after having a "brush with cancer" himself.

    In the show, he had a date with fantasy novelist Jan who told him to get rid of his wig.
