    West Midlands Police said a number of National Action stickers were found at Aston University in July.

    The men are due at Birmingham Crown Court to enter pleas to the charges.

    People living near the site of a large fire in Stoke-on-Trent at the weekend have told BBC Radio Stoke they fear lives could be at risk if it happens again.

    The large blaze on Saturday night, at a former recycling centre off Redhills Road, Milton, was the second one at the site this year.

    In February, a major fire broke out and sent so much smoke into the sky it was seen for many miles across Staffordshire.

    Firefighters are still at the scene this morning and say the cause of the fire isn't yet known.

    A father is to go on trial today, accused of murdering his two young children, whose bodies were found after a house fire.

    Endris Mohammed is alleged to have smothered eight-year-old Saros Endris and his sister, Leanor Endris, six, at the family's property in Holland Road, Hamstead, Birmingham in October 2016.

    Mr Mohammed was charged with murder in January, after being released from hospital following treatment for burns suffered in a car fire.

    The 46-year-old denies murdering the youngsters and has also pleaded not guilty to attempting to murder their mother Penil Teklehaimanot.

    The 25-year-old Wasp player withdrew from last week's training camp in Portugal because of knee trouble.

    England's forwards will train against Wales in Bristol on Monday before travelling back to Pennyhill Park for preparation with the rest of the squad.

  8. Fire tears through recycling plantpublished at 09:28 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2017

    A huge fire has torn through a recycling plant in Walsall.

    It broke out at the site on Reaymer Close at about 18:00 last night and at its height 10 appliances were sent to the scene, as well as ambulance crews.

    Coventry Blaze recorded back-to-back wins over the two new teams in ice hockey’s Elite League at the weekend.

    On Saturday they had a comfortable 4-1 away win at the Guildford Flames, but it was closer yesterday at home to Milton Keynes Lightning, finishing 5-3.

    The injury-hit Telford Tigers were beaten by title-challengers Sheffield Steeldogs 3-2, despite holding the lead going into the third period.

    They also lost 4-2 to Basingstoke Bison in the NIHL Cup.

    Solihull Barons claimed league wins over Nottingham Lions and Blackburn Hawks.

    Parking restrictions come into force on many of the streets in Hereford city centre today.

    Herefordshire Council says it will encourage walking, cycling and bus use and protect the city’s unique features, but many traders feel that the changes will have a massive impact on their businesses.

    Meters have been put in place in places such as Broad Street, St Owen Street and King Street.

    Peaky Blinder actor Cillian Murphy has said he would be open to appearing in a film adaptation of the TV series - but not a musical.

    There have been reports that the BBC drama could be adapted for the West End stage.

    Asked about taking part, Murphy, who plays Thomas Shelby in the gangster drama, said: "I heard about that... that's not for me."

    But asked about signing up for a big-screen version of the Birmingham-set drama, he told the Press Association: "In theory, yeah.

    "Absolutely, if the writing is as good as it is for the show, then for sure."

    West Brom boss Tony Pulis admitted he is under pressure after defeat at Huddersfield and called the club's run of results "one of the worst I've been on as a manager".

    Rajiv van la Parra's goal gave the Terriers a 1-0 victory to leave the Baggies two points above the Premier League bottom three, with some away fans chanting for Pulis to be sacked.

    "If you're on the run on we're on, I don't care which club you're at, you're going to get stick and you have to take it," Pulis told BBC WM.

    Parts such as Pershore, external and Hereford saw -2C (28.4F) first thing this morning and many drivers across the region reached for the de-icer for the first time this winter.

    A soldier from Walsall has started a petition to get the costs of Remembrance Day parades funded by the government.

    Tam Miller says he's had to raise private funds to make sure this year's event in Aldridge goes ahead next weekend.

    The petition has now been signed by more than 12,000 people.

    Walsall Council says it's still contributing towards traffic management costs for the next three years to help organisers plan and fund-raise for their events.

    A scheme to provide parents and children with free Vitamin D supplements in the West Midlands appears to be reducing cases of rickets.

    The BBC has learned that at least 50 children in the UK are affected by the bone softening condition each year.

    Research shows a lack of vitamin D, due to a lack of light, means the disease is on the rise.

    Parents in Birmingham have been taking supplements.

    A police officer remains in hospital after she and a colleague were mown down in a hit-and run as they attended a suspected burglary.

    A male officer suffered minor injuries after the pair were hit near garages on Westacre Crescent, Wolverhampton, at 00:30 on Saturday.

    West Midlands Police said a blue Peugeot 407 estate car "was driven at" the two officers who were both hurt.

    A car was later recovered by police in Windmill Crescent and is undergoing forensic examination.

    Police are continuing to appeal for information to help trace an arsonist after a house fire in Birmingham that left two people seriously injured.

    A 56-year-old man remains in an induced coma in hospital after suffering serious burns following the blaze in Birchtrees Drive last Thursday evening.

    His partner, 50, suffered lower leg fractures when she jumped from a first-floor window to escape the blaze.

    The fire is thought to have been started by a firework.
