Refurbishment work to a block of flats in Stoke-on-Trent is due to start next week, three months after a fatal fire.
The properties in Ringland Close, Northwood, have been empty since the blaze which killed a mother and daughter in October.
It also left a six-month-old girl with life-changing injuries.
Six families who were living there have now been rehoused by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
Staffordshire Fire Service says an investigation into the fire is still under way to work out the exact cause, although it's believed a storage heater too close to clothes was to blame.

An eight-foot-tall, moving Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur model has gone on show at Twycross Zoo.
The 17-foot-long structure, which visited the zoo earlier this year, will be on display alongside some baby dinosaurs.
"They were immensely popular," Ryan Floyd, from the zoo, said.
"So we figured there was no better way to round off the year by bringing them back again."
The models are on show until Sunday.
One in 50 trains on the West Coast main line was delayed by at least 30 minutes in 2016-17, according to research by the consumer group Which?
It found Virgin Trains East Coast was the train company with the highest proportion of significant delays, with 3.7% of its services running between 30 minutes and two hours late.
This was followed by Virgin Trains West Coast (2%) and CrossCountry (1.1%).
A Virgin Trains spokesman said: "Clearly, it's harder to run trains exactly to time over a 400-mile route, and around 80% of delays are outside of our control."
Shadow transport secretary Andy McDonald said Labour would renationalise the railways.
"This research shows that private rail companies are failing to provide reliable services and the Government is refusing to hold them to account... Labour will take our railway back into public ownership to be run for passengers, not profit."
A car has gone off the road and crashed into the side of a house, causing some structural damage.
The incident happened at the junction of Alcester Road and New Road in Hollywood earlier.
The fire service say staff are assessing the safety of the building and no-one was trapped or seriously hurt.
