    A charity which provides wigs for children who lose hair due to cancer treatment says it's "delighted" to have received a donation it believes is from the Duchess of Cambridge.

    The Little Princess Trust, based in Hereford, said it learned about the donation from a newspaper on Friday and was "delighted".

    Kensington Palace said it could not comment.

    But a spokesperson said: "The duchess supports several children's charities."

    It is not clear how much hair the duchess might have donated.

    A group of teenagers are being hunted by police after some of them attacked a man when he complained about them throwing a bottle at a passing car.

    Two of the gang punched and kicked the 23-year-old on Beam Street, Nantwich on Friday evening, police say.

    British engineering giant GKN, which has bases in Birmingham, Telford, Redditch and Leek, has warned that a proposed takeover of the company would weaken its pension scheme.

    Earlier this month it rejected a £7.4bn offer from Melrose Industries, saying it "fundamentally undervalued" the firm.

    On Monday it added that if the deal went ahead, it would increase GKN's debt levels to 2.5 times core earnings - much higher than at present.

    This would leave less cash available for the firm's pension pot. Melrose has previously said it has "an impeccable track record of safeguarding and improving pensioners’ rights in every acquisition it has made”.

    The Cheshire Phoenix won the BBL Cup for the first time since 2002 when they beat the Worcester Wolves 99-88 in the final at Arena Birmingham.

    Malcolm Riley led Cheshire's scoring with 26 points and Robert Sandoval and Tevin Falzon added 12 each.

    Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris has called on Sandwell Council leader Steve Eling to resign, for the second time in less than a week.

    This morning Ofsted published a report stating the council's children's services were inadequate and that there had been no improvements since its last inspection in 2015.

    Last week, Mr Morris (Cons) attacked the council in the House of Commons labelling it a "rotten regime".

    Labour councillor Mr Eling said last week he would not be resigning and said Mr Morris was "crawling around in the political gutter".

    An 82-year-old man has died after being injured in a serious road crash in north Devon last August, police say.

    John Pope, from Winkleigh, was injured after his Vauxhall Zafira collided with a tipper lorry at North Molton junction on the A361, near South Molton, on 7 August 2017.

    He had sustained life-threatening chest and head injuries, police said.

    Devon and Cornwall Police said, external they were "notified that Mr Pope died on 10 January in Worcestershire as a result of the injuries caused in the collision".

    The crash was being investigated as a fatal collision and a file was being prepared for the coroner, officers added.

    Two men carried out a series of six robberies in a matter of hours where they targeted vulnerable women.

    The men snatched necklaces from a 70-year-old woman on a mobility scooter in Cannock and a blind woman in Walsall, who subsequently suffered a heart attack.

    Joshua Bluck, 25, of Peolsford Road, Pelsall, and 18-year-old Cameron Ball of Green Rock Lane, Walsall, were jailed for 12 and seven years respectively at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

    The judge told Bluck and Ball their crimes were "utterly sickening".

    Sandwell Council has said it is "disappointed" following another inadequate rating of its children's services.

    Cllr Simon Hackett, cabinet member for children's services, said the council is "disappointed... however we make no excuses - the service still isn't where it needs to be".

    Last year, the government announced an independent trust to run children's social care services in the borough.

    The Sandwell Children’s Trust, led by former Home Secretary Jaqui Smith, is due to launch on 1 April, which it says will be a "fresh start".

    Warwickshire's Chris Woakes and Worcestershire's Moeen Ali both say they're excited to play in the Indian Premier League after both got deals with the same side.

    The competition's auction took place at the weekend and Woakes went for the higher price of the pair, fetching £820,000 from Royal Challengers Banglaore.

    The same team also spent £187,000 on Moeen.

    This year's T20 competition begins on 7 April.

    Broad Street in Birmingham's entertainment district is shut to traffic for approximately four weeks.

    The busy street, packed with bars, clubs, hotels and restaurants, will be accessible to buses and various pick up points for taxis. Otherwise, Broad Street and Centenary Square will only be open to pedestrians and cyclists.

    The closure is to enable work to continue on the Midland Metro expansion. Trams are expected to operate to Centenary Square next year.

    Eventually, the Midland Metro will expand through Centenary Square, external to Edgbaston.
