    A Shropshire gymnastics centre has been shortlisted for a top award and is urging people to vote as it stands a chance of being given a £20,000 prize.

    The Park Wrekin Gym Club, in Telford, was established 50 years ago, and in that time it's trained some of the country's top competitors, including Alice Kinsella., external

    But as well as top names, it trains children from disadvantaged backgrounds and disabled youngsters.

    The club has made the top 30 shortlist of sports clubs catering for under-21s from across the UK in the Persimmon Healthy Communities competition, external.

    Two cars were stolen from a property in Kineton, Warwickshire, after thieves stole the keys from a home, police say.

    Warwickshire Police said entry was forced to a property on Hutton Road at about 04:30 on 20 February.

    Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a white van in the area at the time of the incident.

    Campaigners fighting against plans for a £200m bypass to the west of Hereford, external say they're prepared to take legal action against the council who they say are using out of date maps.

    It's claimed the maps being shown in consultation meetings date back to the early 90s and some are even in Welsh.

    Those in favour of the bypass say it's essential to take the city forward - but those against say it's not needed and will devastate homes and woodland.

    Herefordshire Council says the maps its consultants use are based on Ordnance Survey information and are regularly updated.

    Money's to be spent on Wellington Station to make travelling safer and more pleasant.

    West Midlands Trains is investing in a new CCTV system, bicycle parking, better customer information displays and a deep clean of the whole station.

    People living in Shropshire Council's area will see one of their main household bills rise by nearly 6%.

    April's increase will add an extra £75 a year, external to bills for an average band D property.

    Alan Mosley, the opposition Labour group leader on the authority, said his party voted for the increase as the alternative option would have led to "additional deep cut services, and that's the balance we have to look at".

    A taxi driver who used the lid of a coffee cup as a fuel cap has had his licence suspended, Sandwell Council said.

    Diesel was seeping through the cover, it was discovered, during a safety check by a Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) inspector, who also found other faults with the vehicle.

    The inspector said the decision to fit the lid to the vehicle's filler neck was "inexcusable" and he was “shocked at the level of non-compliance and the blatant disregard to road safety”.

    The driver, whose licence was suspended for 24 weeks, can appeal the suspension at magistrates' court, the authority said.
