    Two swans that were found dead at a park in Staffordshire are thought to have been attacked by an animal., external

    The RSPCA says the two birds were discovered by a lake at Chasewater Country Park, Burntwood on 21 February with bite marks on their necks and body.

    The charity says it can't rule out a dog attacked them and is urging owners to keep their pets on a lead when near wildlife.

    The building was boarded up in 2012, and has been left frozen in time ever since.

    The new hotel is due to be finished just in time for Coventry's turn as the UK's city of culture in 2021.

    A man stabbed his wife to death "without warning" and in front of their children after she confronted him when he returned from a night of binge drinking and gambling.

    Shaeen Akthar, 49, was murdered by her husband, 46-year-old Parvez Akthar at their family home on Wright Road, Washwood Heath, Birmingham on 15 October.

    Akthar initially denied intending to kill the mother of five, but admitted her murder at Birmingham Crown Court. He has been jailed for life, to serve a minimum of 20 years.

    Quote Message

    Mrs Akthar confronted her husband when he returned home at around 4pm having been out all night drinking. An argument erupted and he refused to leave. Without warning, and in front of his children, he stabbed Mrs Akthar in the left side of her chest.
