    A school choir from Herefordshire has made it to the semi-finals of BBC Songs of Praise Young Choir competition.

    Forty pupils from Hereford Cathedral Junior School have been selected from hundreds of choirs across the UK to sing live on BBC One this Sunday at 16:15.

    They'll perform Be Still For the Presence of the Lord.

    People living on a street in Coventry were allowed back into their homes last night after an investigation by an Army bomb disposal team.

    One man was detained under the Explosives Act after a police search on Brookside Avenue uncovered possible suspicious items.

    The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal was called to carry out an examination and at the time police said the evacuation of eight homes was a precautionary measure.

    A man's been charged with attempted murder , externalafter another man was found with multiple stab wounds outside a block of flats in Wolverhampton.

    Police were called to Tithe Croft, Heath Town on Sunday evening where a man in his 20s was found with stab wounds to his body.

    A 39-year-old from Lithuania is set to appear before magistrates later today.

    The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.

    The Countess of Wessex will visit Hereford today and will see the Weeping Window poppy sculpture.

    The famous Tower of London poppies went on display at Hereford Cathedral earlier this year.

    Thousands of them can be seen cascading down the side of the ancient building.

    The poppies were first installed at the tower to commemorate 100 years since World War One.

    It happened yesterday afternoon on Coal Pit Lane, Willey, Rugby, the ambulance service says.

    It says the biker, a man in his 40s, had suffered several serious injuries and was treated before being taken to hospital.

    Families of the victims of the Birmingham pub bombings say their supporters have raised £21,000 in 25 days towards their legal bills to take a case to the High Court.

    Justice4the21, the main campaign group representing many of the relatives, are fighting a coroner's appeal against an earlier ruling to name suspects of the Birmingham pub bombings in new inquests.

    They say they need to raise a total of £30,000.

    Twenty one people died when two bombs exploded in the city centre in 1974.

    In January, two High Court judges ruled that coroner Sir Peter Thornton QC was wrong to decide that the names of the suspects would not be part of new inquests for the victims.

    Shrewsbury impressively hit back from a goal down to beat Peterborough 3-1 in League One but will have to settle for a place in the play-offs after Blackburn sealed automatic promotion.

    The Shrews are guaranteed to finish in third place, with two games of the campaign remaining.

    While in League Two last night, Coventry's hopes of securing a play-off place took a blow as they lost 4-2 at home to Lincoln City.

    The Sky Blues remain three points ahead of Mansfield in the last of the play-off places, seventh, with two games of the season remaining.

    The former creative programmer for London 2012 has joined Coventry's UK City of Culture team as creative director.

    Chenine Bhathena has promised to deliver "an unforgettable year" and wants to see the city "highlight and develop its role as a global leader".

    Coventry becomes UK City of Culture in 2021.

    As the London 2012 creative programmer, Ms Bhathena initiated and led a high-profile £8m project of outdoor arts event across greater London.
