A coroner has concluded a schoolboy would have survived if a blood test had been carried out before his death.
Callum Cartlidge, eight, from Redditch, died after a cardiac arrest on 3 March 2017 - less than 24 hours after leaving Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
During the inquest, Dr Ann Radcliffe said there was "a high chance" a blood test would have detected his illness.
Recording a narrative verdict today, the Worcestershire coroner said not carrying out the test was a serious failing but not a gross failing, and he could not record a verdict of neglect.
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has been investigating the case.
