There is blue smoke across Broadgate now and people are hanging out of windows as the Coventry City team bus arrives.

Steve Ogrizovic, a hero of the past, is with the players of today, but has been allowing them to take the glory this time.

And those players are bouncing up and down with the fans, making the bus itself bounce.

They will now get off the bus for a civic reception.

We're now expecting the team to arrive at 18:30, with their civic reception at 19:00.

The route of Coventry City's open top bus parade was altered today so the players could pay their respects to Corey and Casper Platt-May, the brothers who died after being hit by a car in the city earlier this year.

BBC Cov and Warwickshire's Vic Minett is on the open top bus with former Sky Blues defender Dave Busst.

"The more we get close to the city the more and more people we are getting," he said.

"To see the pride and passion in people, it's brilliant. The sense of pride in everyone as they wave up at the lads. This will be up there with the '87 lot."

He's referring to the 1987 cup final, when Coventry FC took on and beat Tottenham Hotspur by three goals to two.

It must be a great view for the players from the top of the Coventry City open top bus.

And fans have been singing their songs to greet them.

Broadgate in Coventry is getting busier as the team bus approaches - entrepreneurs are making the most of it to sell horns, flags and selfie sticks to the fans.

We're hearing the bus might be taking a bit longer than expected to get around the streets.

Coventry City fans aren't letting the rain put them off as they line the streets to welcome the team back and celebrate their promotion.

And they're being rewarded with a glimpse of their heroes.

People have been leaving their houses to line the route of the open top bus tour through Coventry this evening.

Former Coventry City player David Busst said "you just see the pride and the passion in everyone, it's absolutely brilliant".

And the Lord Mayor, Councillor John Blundell, said: "I was here in 1987 and I think this will have the same effect, if not more."
