    Neighbours in part of Wolverhampton say they're shocked at the news that a 15-year-old boy's died in a stabbing.

    Keelan Wilson's grandfather described him as an "angel".

    He was taken to hospital after police were called to Langley Road, Merry Hill, last night, but died in hospital.

    Keelan was due to start college in September and had also raised money for charity by having all of his long hair cut off for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

    A man who crawled into a house fire to rescue an elderly woman from the blaze has been honoured for his bravery., external

    The fire service says they were called to the home on South Street, Stoke-on-Trent in December.

    But they say, before they arrived, Geoffrey Handley had heard a cry for help and crawled into the house on his hands and knees.

    He dragged a woman in her 80s to safety with both of them needing treatment after breathing in smoke.

While this is something we would not encourage people to do, on this occasion it’s clear that without his actions the woman would have suffered far worse smoke inhalation and would have most certainly died."

    Highways England said there were already long delays there, following an earlier collision.

    The open top bus is ready to take the Coventry City players on a tour of the city this evening, following their play-off win on Monday.

    And there has been an alteration to the route - it will now be visiting Longfellow Road, as a tribute to the Platt-May family, who lost brothers Casper and Corey in a car crash earlier in the year.

    The body of a man has been pulled out of the River Avon in Stratford-upon-Avon.

    It was discovered by specialist dive teams just before 18:30 last night, Warwickshire Police said.

    The force said officers want to talk to anyone who saw a man enter the water on Friday night at Riverside.

  8. Cows and sheep invited to attend cathedral servicepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 30 May 2018

    Cows and sheep were welcomed into Worcester Cathedral this morning, for a service to launch next month's Royal Three Counties Show.

    The organisers invited past winners, two of each, as part of celebrations to mark 60 years of the event being held at the Malvern showground.

    The agricultural society that organises the event is more than 220 years old and had to get special permission to allow the animals in.

    The umpires have been out again at Edgbaston and have decided to keep the players inside a bit longer, until the rain can clear.

    The latest plan is for the match against Northamptonshire to start at 16:45.

    A planning battle between music icons Robbie Williams and Jimmy Page is to drag on after a council failed to reach a decision on the singer's swimming pool plans for his west London home.

    Former Led Zeppelin guitarist Page had opposed the Stoke-on-Trent-born singer's proposals for a basement with pool at his home.

    Neighbour Page argued that excavations would be "catastrophic" for his Grade I listed Gothic-style Tower House.

    But Kensington and Chelsea Council's planning committee deferred a decision.

    Parts of Worcester are to become dog-free zones under new powers adopted by the city council

    The Public Spaces Protection Order means they won't be allowed at all in Astwood and St John's cemeteries and must be kept on the lead at all times in Gheluvelt Park.

    The order will also limit the number of dogs which can be walked in a public place in the city by one person to four.

    A man who's been an unlicensed sperm donor for five years says he doesn't advertise what he does as he would be overwhelmed with messages on Facebook.

    Based in Staffordshire, Clive Jones, 62, says he goes on the social media site and can quickly find couples, ladies advertising that they need a donor.

    He says if someone is close to his location and he's not too busy, he'll message them and set up a donation.

    Mr Jones says he then parks his van on a nearby street and, because sperm can only live for a short time outside the body, external, he "produces his sample" in the van into a pot, before taking it to the house in a syringe - he even has a curtain installed in the van.

  17. Robins hopes to build on play-off triumphpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 30 May 2018

    Coventry City manager Mark Robins says he hopes to build on the success of their promotion-winning season and that fans will be encouraged to buy more season tickets.

    With the possible exception of the 2016-17 EFL Trophy, you could argue Coventry City's victory in the League Two play-off final on Monday was their biggest triumph since the 1987 FA Cup. Their sixth-place in the division was their highest finish to a season since 1970.

    Robins is also looking to strengthen his squad for League One and wants the extra revenue from season ticket sales to boost his spending power.
