  1. MP takes aim at Viagogopublished at 10:49 British Summer Time 30 May 2018

    Stourbridge MP Margot James had some tough words for secondary ticketing site Viagogo this morning, describing them as "the worst" of the big resale websites.

    The site has missed a deadline to change the way it advertises ticket prices - designed to make prices more transparent.

    Ms James, digital and culture minister, called for consumers to "vote with their feet".

    The BBC has approached Viagogo for a response.

    A man who claims to have fathered 67 children across the UK by donating sperm from the back of his van has told BBC Radio Stoke he hid what he did from his wife for several years.

    Clive Jones, 62, from Staffordshire, has been an unlicensed sperm donor for five years and says he doesn't charge families a penny.

    He told BBC Radio Stoke he started because he felt for people who struggled to have a child and meets most of his clients on Facebook.

    Very few women are eligible for artificial insemination on the NHS as the criteria are very strict. Private licensed clinics cost between £500 and £1,000 for each cycle of treatment. Men are allowed to father no more than 10 children.

    Mr Jones says he provides STD test results but fertility charities warn women using such services they are putting themselves at risk of sexual and hereditary diseases.

    Event organisers say an increase in advanced ticket sales means they could see record crowds.

    Worcester centre Ben Te'o has been ruled out of the England tour of South Africa with an injury to a quad muscle in his leg.

    Gloucester full-back Jason Woodward, Northampton centre Piers Francis and Wasps number eight Nathan Hughes have been called into the 34 man squad.

    They replace Te'o, and the other injured players Cameron Redpath and Jack Willis, in Eddie Jones's squad.

    England's tour of South Africa, which features three Tests, starts on 9 June at Ellis Park in Johannesburg.

    Midlands Connect is planning to deliver a new road between the M5 and the M6, through the Black Country and south Staffordshire and round the side of Wolverhampton.

    The South Staffordshire MP Gavin Williamson has criticised the idea, saying it would have a vast impact and a "gross waste of taxpayers' money".

    But Midlands Connect, a collaboration of local authorities and local enterprise partnerships, says it believes the idea would make the motorway network in the region more reliable and cut congestion.

    It adds that it hasn't decided on a route yet, but is looking at what the benefits could be.

    Part of Victoria Road, in Fenton, is being resurfaced between Manor Street and Stanier Street over the next four days.

    Temporary repairs were made earlier this month, but the city council's hoping the work from today will be more permanent.

    There are fresh calls for more safety cameras in Birmingham following an inquest into the deaths of three people, killed in a high-speed crash.

    Lucy Davies and Lee Jenkins died, along with their taxi driver Imtiaz Mohammed, when their vehicle was in collision with an Audi travelling at 100mph on Belgrave Middleway on 17 December.

    A coroner concluded that the trio in the taxi died as a result of a crash.

    Three people in the Audi were also killed and their inquests will take place later.

    BBC Shropshire expects Paul Hurst to be officially named as the new Ipswich manager today.

    Shrewsbury reluctantly gave Ipswich permission to start talks with Hurst, 43, after agreeing compensation for him and his assistant Chris Doig.

    The club says they'll move quickly to appoint a replacement with Livingston boss David Hopkin linked with the vacancy.

    The repair bill for the flash floods that hit parts of north Worcestershire on Sunday may hit £10m, according to one county councillor.

    Up to 100 homes in Wythall and Hollywood were affected when one month's worth of rain fell in just an hour.

    In some cases, up to five feet of water poured into streets, damaging road surfaces as well as engulfing properties.

    Worcestershire County Councillor Adam Kent told the BBC he'd never seen anything like it, as residents described how they'd been affected.

    The Barclays branch is one of four set to close across the county this summer or autumn.

    The others are in Church Stretton, Wem and Newport - Barclays says more people are banking online and via their phones.

    But councillors and residents say Much Wenlock has an elderly, vulnerable population, many of whom don't use the internet.

    The team will leave their training ground in Ryton at 17:00 and travel to the city centre on an open top bus before a civic reception at 18:30.

    It will be the first time the Sky Blues have enjoyed a victory parade since their FA Cup win in 1987.

    Coventry beat Exeter in the play-off final on Monday to gain promotion for the first time in 51 years.

    Firefighters in the West Midlands have voted nine to one in favour of strikes in a dispute over contracts for new recruits, the Fire Brigades Union said.

    Turnout was 82% and about 1,100 members were balloted.

    The new contracts were "exploitative of the newest employees" in the service, the union said.

    It called on the fire authority to withdraw the contracts.

    The fire service said it was committed to continuing discussions with the FBU and would "assess the situation" over the coming days.
