    A public consultation starts today into , externala plan to radically overhaul services at two Shropshire hospitals.

    Health bosses say the way the Royal Shrewsbury and Telford's Princess Royal are currently set up means people aren't getting the best care possible.

    They want to rearrange services so that rather than both hospitals offering the majority of services, one becomes home to emergency care and the other the base for planned care, such as surgery.

    The consultation is giving people the option of either picking the Shrewsbury or Telford site to be the base for A&E and runs for the next 14 weeks.

    Worcestershire completed English one-day cricket's largest successful run chase to beat Leicestershire by six wickets at New Road.

    Callum Ferguson's 192 helped them pass the target of 377 with 16 balls to spare after opener Joe Clarke's 62.

    His knock from 143 balls was his career-best in List A cricket and Worcestershire's highest List A individual score, beating fellow Australian Tom Moody's 180 not out in the 1990 Nat West Trophy semi-final against Surrey.

    Worcestershire's win was their fourth from five games and kept them top of the One Day Cup's North Group.

    The 20-year-old victim was left with multiple knife wounds, including a serious stab injury to his stomach, in an attack in Overbury Road, Northfield, on 16 March.

    A man in his 20s is fighting for his life in hospital after a street attack.

    He sustained serious injuries following an altercation at the junction of Victoria Terrace and Parade in Leamington Spa, just before 03:30.

    Police say he is in a critical condition in hospital.

    A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is in police custody.

    One scam saw a fake policeman demanding cash to have a relative released from custody.

    In another, a conman claimed a bank account had been hacked and needed money transferring to an account set up by the scammers.

    Police raided a home to discover cannabis plants worth £57,000 growing in a loft.

    A man, 38, from the Park Road area of Stratford-upon-Avon, was not arrested following the search, but later attended a voluntary interview at the town's police station.

    He was "fully cooperative with police officers" from Warwickshire Police.

    Up to 57 plants - roughly 14 weeks old - were destroyed following a tip-off by a member of the public.

    The dairy firm Arla is closing its cheese packing plant in Malpas and transferring the work to Oswestry.

    The Danish dairy group is also closing a cheddar production unit and creamery in Denbighshire.

    Grants of up to £10,000 are to be made available to help Stoke-on-Trent residents stay warm in their homes. , external

    The city council has been awarded £246,000 from the National Grid Warm Homes Fund to help struggling homeowners with costs of things like damp proofing, boiler replacement or repairs.

    Privately rented tenants could get up to £5,000 if their landlord agrees to match-fund the contribution.

    A senior officer who gave evidence at an inquiry into a man's fatal shooting by police in Cheshire "may have committed a criminal offence", the police watchdog has said.

    A report regarding the conduct of Assistant Chief Constable Steven Heywood has been passed to the Crown Prosecution Service.

    ACC Heywood authorised the operation in which Anthony Grainger died in 2012.

    No evidence was found against a second officer being investigated.

    A Cheshire college has been criticised for a plan to "decommission" a campus six years after spending £10m on brand new buildings.

    Warrington and Vale Royal College said its Hartford campus near Northwich was "seriously under-utilised".

    In a letter, Northwich mayor Janet Myerscough-Illidge said closing "state-of-the-art facilities" built in 2012 would be a "huge loss".

    The college said the plan would ensure it is "financially sustainable".

    The 38-year-old is wanted by Leicestershire Police in connection with the attempted murder of a man at a house in the city in January.

    Officers would also like to speak to Mr McIntosh, from Leicester, about a woman who was attacked during the same incident.

    The force said it's carried out extensive inquiries to locate Mr McIntosh.

    It is believed he has links to Leicester and Birmingham.
