The driver and a front seat passenger in a coach were taken to hospital, but 37 others on board were unhurt after it hit a crash barrier on the M6 earlier today.
West Midlands Ambulance service said the collision happened at the entrance to Corley services just after 13:00 and could have been "significantly worse" if the coach had overturned.
The driver was treated for a head injury and the other man was complaining of a chest injury.
The uninjured passengers were taken to the service station until a replacement coach could arrive.
A link road between the M54 and M6 should be the Department for Transport's "number one priority", Telford and Wrekin Council has said.
Proposals for a 40 mile motorway to connect them were included in a 20-year plan put forward by pan-regional transport partnership Midlands Connect last week.
Midlands Connect , externalbelieves the road is urgently needed and it's director, Maria Machancoses said: "There’s no question, it’s a strategic imperative and further delays must be avoided at all costs”.
Quote MessageOne of the key selling points of our borough to external investors is the fantastic transport links that Telford enjoys and we have very much made the most of that to attract new investment. However, the icing on the cake would be a proper motorway link from the M54 to the M6 northbound."

A major cycling event – set to pass through Solihull next year – will bring 15,000 riders through the streets of the borough, organisers have confirmed.
Councillors were this week briefed on plans for the Velo Birmingham, a closed road route which will take in 29 miles of Solihull’s roads.
Supporters hope the event – one of the few of its kind in the UK – will boost the local economy and raise the profile of the area, but others are concerned about the impact that road closures will have on residents and businesses.
The inaugural ride, last September, attracted competitors from 34 countries with up to 50,000 spectators lining the route, although some members of the public did complain of difficulties getting out and about.
