    Barclays has confirmed they're closing their branch in Hay-on-Wye, the town's last remaining bank.

    The news follows the closure of the Natwest branch in October and leaves customers having to travel to Brecon for their nearest bank.

    Barclays says the number of customers using the branch has dropped by 16% in the past two years with more people banking online.

    They say it'll close in September, adding that the Post Office offers banking services.

    Roads around a bridge are having £200,000 spent on them , externalas they're prepared for extra traffic once the crossing is nearly completely closed for repairs.

    Work's due to start on Burton Bridge, Burton-upon-Trent, on 18 June and finish, Staffordshire County Council promises, before the new school term in September.

    In total, the authority's spending £6.1m on repairing and strengthening Burton Bridge and St Peter's Bridge, with the latter revamped last year.

    The council says the £200,00 is being spent on checking and patching the roads around the second bridge, which will have three out of four lanes shut when work starts.

    A fortnight after flash flooding hit parts of north Worcestershire, many of the families affected have told BBC Hereford and Worcester they're struggling with the stress of getting their homes repaired.

    Up to 100 homes in Wythall and Hollywood were affected when one month's worth of rain fell in just an hour.

    In some cases, up to five feet of water poured into streets, engulfing properties.

    The county council say they've arranged for the National Flood Forum to visit everyone affected and they're holding an emergency forum about the floods, in Wythall Park on Friday evening., external

    Wooden bollards put in by a council to try and stop travellers moving onto land have failed.

    Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council says travellers arrived on Wolstanton Marsh, as well as Earls Drive, over the weekend., external

    The authority had installed the bollards as a barrier on Wolstanton Marsh earlier this year , externalafter a previous encampment.

    The council says it's now taking legal action to have the unauthorised camps evicted.

    A young boy is now able to stand up without help for the first time after what his mother's called a life-changing operation.

    Ben Harris-Bell, 5, from Evesham, who has cerebral palsy, had the surgery in Bristol three weeks ago, external after his family raised £60,000 to pay for it.

    His mother says her son's never been able to stand unaided before and now he can to a minute, as well as using stairs without adult supervision.

    She told BBC Hereford and Worcester that they can now work towards teaching Ben to walk on his own.

    The attack happened on the High Street, Cheadle, Staffordshire, during the early hours, police said.

    They say £100 was stolen and he needed hospital treatment for a head injury.

    A 23-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

    Another woman, 22, also from the city, was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.

    A 43-year-old has been remanded in custody charged with attacking an 86-year-old woman in her Yardley home, breaking bones in her neck and back.

    Nicholas Mason, of Larches Lane, Chapel Ash, Wolverhampton is accused of grievous bodily harm against Veronica Eustace.

    The accused was charged with committing seven burglaries and two attempted break-ins within four days earlier this month.

    Mr Mason is next due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.
