    Two people are due in court this morning charged with murdering a boy stabbed on a shopping street in Sutton Coldfield.

    Ozell Pemberton, 16, (pictured) was found with chest injuries at Lower Parade last month and was confirmed dead at the scene.

    Oscar Ingram, 21, of Banners Grove, Erdington, is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court, charged with murder, alongside a 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

  2. Crash closes part of M6published at 07:55 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Traffic is being temporarily held on the M6 southbound between J4, for Coleshill and J3A for the M6 Toll after a two-vehicle crash.

    The crash involving a car and a lorry happened close to where traffic from the M42 merges with the M6 south.

    Queues are building on approaches, said the Highways Agency.

    A 77-year-old man from Wolverhampton has been selected to represent Wales at an international hockey competition.

    The Grand Masters Hockey World Cup takes place in Spain later this week.

    Glyn Thomas will play as a goalkeeper and hopes he'll be successful enough to be called up again in the future.

    Ambulances taking patients to hospital from most parts of Kidderminster will be diverted away from the Worcestershire Royal as part of a week-long trial.

    From today, patients from the DY10 and DY11 postcodes will be taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch instead.

    Health bosses say they hope the move will reduce pressure on services at the Royal.

    Latest inspections found the "routine use" of a corridor to care for patients at the Royal Worcestershire Hospital is still a concern at an "inadequate" trust.

    Work to refurbish the second of Burton-upon-Trent's two major bridges starts today.

    The project, which will see the Burton Bridge strengthened and resurfaced, is set to last until September.

    Motorists are being warned, external to expect delays and allow extra time for journeys.
