    A 25-year-old man from Bilston has been jailed for three years and four months after being caught with heroin, cocaine and a can of CS spray in his car.

    West Mercia Police say phone evidence demonstrated Tatenda Masawi, from Bilboe Road, had been distributing drugs in a so-called "county lines" trafficking drug operation.

    This type of offence involves drugs being trafficked from large cities in smaller towns and often involves dealers exploiting vulnerable people and dealing drugs from their property.

    Masawi from Bilboe Road, was also found to be driving without a valid driving licence and insurance when he was stopped by police officers on Listley Street (pictured) in Bridgnorth on 23 June 2017.

    He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of a prohibited weapon, obstructing a police officer and driving whilst disqualified and was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.

    A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a man suffered serious stab wounds in a Birmingham park.

    The 45-year-old victim was injured in Finchley Park, Kingstanding, on 20 June.

    He's in hospital in a critical but stable condition, says West Midlands Police.

    The accused, who is 17 and cannot be named, also faces a charge of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

    Coventry City FC’s owners are interested in a 50-50 partnership with rugby club Wasps at the Ricoh Arena.

    The news emerged as judges at the Court of Appeal pushed the football club’s QC, Rhodri Thompson, on what Sky Blues owners wanted to happen if Wasps could not pay the council an additional £27m.

    That’s how much the football club argues Wasps underpaid for the Ricoh Arena when the council sold it in 2014.

    The Sky Blues have shared the ground since Wasps made Coventry their home in December 2014, with the football club leasing the stadium from the rugby side which owns it.

    Coventry City is seeking a full judicial review into the terms of the stadium's sale.

    Lawyers for the Sky Blues and the council are set to continue making their cases tomorrow.

    A man has been seriously injured after a "targeted" stab attack in Wolverhampton, police say.

    A 24-year-old man has been taken to hospital following the stabbing on Tremont Street, Heath Town, at about 14:30.

    Wednesfield Road is closed at the junction of Springfield Road and Sun Street.

    Ch Insp Gareth Mason said: "We believe this was a targeted, rather than a random attack".

    The fire service says "good progress" is being made to contain the flames.

    A man who stabbed his pizza shop boss to death has been jailed for his murder.

    Masoud Esmailian, 46, was found fatally injured in his home in Montgomery Walk, West Bromwich, in August 2015.

    At Birmingham Crown Court, 22-year-old Romanian national Andrew Ilie was found guilty of killing Mr Esmailian in a premeditated attack.

    At a court hearing today, he was handed a life sentence and ordered to spend at least 17 years in prison.

    The jury was unable to reach a verdict on a robbery charge, which will lie on file.
