    The ambulance service were called to Gloucester Street at 13:10 to reports of a "seriously injured" man.

    Two hundred litres of diesel has spilled on to the M54 eastbounds, between J5 and J4 near Telford.

    Highways England says one lane is closed while it's cleared up and queues are currently about three miles long.

    Public Health England, external says Monkey Dust is the street name for Methylenedioxy-α-pyrrolidinohexiophenone or MDPHP.

    It is a stimulant known as a cathinone and it is similar to another drug, MDPV or Methylenedioxypyrovalerone.

    The government classifies synthetic cathinones as Class B drugs.

    The drugs charity Mentor, external said it can make people who use it and their clothes smell of urine.

    Jermaine Grandison is training with the Shrewsbury Town squad, in an attempt to regain his fitness, but manager John Askey says he's unlikely to sign the former player.

    The defender left the club to sign for Colchester United in 2016, but has been plagued by hip problems and hasn't played competitively since the move, undergoing a number of operations.

    Askey said he was happy to help the player out, but said "it's really one that we're looking at that will come to anything, but you never know".

    West Mercia Police says the use of the drug known as Monkey Dust is becoming more common in the region.

    Det Insp Lee Holehouse said it can cause numbness and intoxications at low doses, but hallucinations, violent behaviour and cardiac arrest in extreme cases.

    Det Insp Holehouse compared it with other drugs such as MKat and described it as an "extreme high".

    Two people who are thought to have taken the drug in Telford have died and a third is seriously ill in hospital.

  11. Motorists warned after more sightings of fake police carpublished at 15:59 British Summer Time 20 July 2018

    There have been more sightings of a car using flashing blue lights and siren to mimic a police vehicle and Staffordshire Police is advising people to be careful if they aren't sure who is pulling them over.

    The black car, possibly a Ford Mondeo or Focus, has the lights set into its front grill and the driver claimed to be a police officer after stopping a moped in Burslem.

    In the last few days it has also been reported on Anchor Road, Victoria Road and Victoria Street in Stoke-on-Trent and also on the A50.

    The force is advising people who are unsure about blue flashing lights not to stop in a secluded location, but to signal to show they have seen the vehicle and then proceed to a public place.

    And it advises people to keep doors locked and windows closed until they see a warrant card.

    A former Stoke-on-Trent general election candidate who was found guilty of stirring up racial hatred has had her sentencing adjourned again to allow psychiatric reports to be drawn up.

    Barbara Fielding Morriss, a self-confessed white supremacist and anti-semite, wrote on her website about her admiration for Adolf Hitler and said she despised Jews and Asian immigrants.

    The 79-year-old was warned again by a judge at Stoke Crown Court that she probably faces a custodial sentence and it is a condition of her bail that she attends appointments with a psychiatric nurse.

    She defended herself during her trial and sentencing last month was adjourned to allow her to secure legal representation.

    A Gaelic football team from Birmingham are about to become the first side to represent Great Britain at the Continental Youth Championships in the USA.

    St Brendan's are taking two junior teams to the tournament in Boston which brings together 250 sides from around the world.

    The club were invited after winning the All Britain title in 2017 which they successfully defended last weekend.

    While they're preparing for next week's Europa League second-round qualifier against Red Imps, The New Saints will have one eye Nyon on Monday - where the draw for the third qualifying round is made.

    An inflatable dinosaur that was placed on plinth in Worcester to replace a vandalised giraffe statue has gone after it was punctured overnight.

    The dinosaur, nicknamed Dave, was placed near The Cross by a local cafe and this morning there were flowers left on the spot.

    The Worcester Stands Tall, external giraffe art trail through the city centre is made up of 57 giraffe sculptures, which will all be auctioned off for charity when the statues are removed in September.
