    Boos rang around the Bet365 Stadium at the final whistle after another poor performance from the Potters, who have taken just two points from a possible 12 under Gary Rowett.

    Perhaps more worryingly for Rowett, his side failed to register a shot on target in the whole 90 minutes.

    The bear in question is a five-foot-tall display that was taken from outside the Bakehouse Cafe, in Stafford, on 7 July.

    Staffordshire Police says the bear is named Barnaby and the owners want it back as it "holds a great deal of sentimental value".

    Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a man was found at a flat in Walsall yesterday afternoon.

    The man, aged 39, was discovered by paramedics in the property on Bloxwich Road South in Willenhall, Walsall, just before 12:30.

    Police forensic examinations continue at the flat.

    A post-mortem examination is yet to take place.

    A motorcyclist has died, days after a crash involving a van in Nuneaton.

    Sam Giess, from the town, was struck by a white Ford Transit van on Woodford Lane on Sunday evening.

    The 26-year-old was taken to hospital, but died on Tuesday, police say.

    Warwickshire Police is appealing for witnesses, external as investigations continue into how the crash happened.

    House of Fraser's store in Telford will now stay open after the chain's new owner agreed revised terms with its landlord.

    The store had been due to close under a restructuring plan that House of Fraser announced in June.

    However, the department store group fell into administration earlier this month, and was bought by Mike Ashley's Sports Direct.

    The new owner of House of Fraser says the Telford store will also benefit from being part of the town's new fashion quarter redevelopment.

    Five other stores in the West Midlands are scheduled to close and the retailer's new owner said it would be "working through the stores on an individual basis and update everyone as soon as possible".

    Fire crews have again been called out to a beauty spot in the Peak District after a fire flared up again.

    On Tuesday, Staffordshire Fire Service said it was finally leaving the scene after 12 days battling a huge blaze around The Roaches., external

    But, yesterday afternoon, the county's wildlife trust reported a hotspot, external which had flared up again, measuring around six sq m (65 sq ft).

    Two fire crews were sent and put it out, using backpacks, in under two hours.

    Tributes are being paid to Ian Fletcher - the husband of Coventry MP Coleen Fletcher - who's died from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

    Colleen and their two sons, Jamie and Jonathan thank staff at both Coventry's University Hospital and Myton Hospice who "have been an enormous comfort" to them.

    He was driving on the northbound side of the M5 between J8 and J7, near Worcester, this morning when it happened, the ambulance service says.

    It says the man, in his 50s, had got out of the car when they arrived and had suffered several cuts and a swelling to his arm.

    Stoke-on-Trent City Council says it is monitoring one of its fishing pools in Fenton - after reports that about 200 fish have died.

    People who fish at Corkies Pool say the water started to go down on Tuesday evening.

    The council says it will to continue to monitor the water and oxygen levels closely and if it gets too low will consider relocating the fish with the Environment Agency.

    Highways England says there are delays of about an hour in the area and crews are en route to inspect damage to the barrier.

    A lane also remains closed northbound.

    A car thief who injured a West Midlands police officer while resisting arrest has been jailed for nearly four years.

    Police were called to arrest Liam O'Callaghan, external after a member of the public saw him trying door handles on parked cars in Rednal last October.

    When officers attempted to arrest him, he struggled violently and dislocated one of the officer's arms and fractured his collar bone, West Midlands Police said.

    The 30-year-old, of Quinton Road West, pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday to assaulting a police officer and theft from a motor vehicle and was jailed for a total of 43 months.

    West Midlands Police said that the injured officer "sadly worked his last day" on the day of the incident as he decided to step down from the role after 15 years of service.
