    Thousands of people are expected to descend on a corner of Cheshire over the next three days for a food and drink festival.

    Organisers of the event in Nantwich, external say they're expecting about 45,000 visitors.

    The festival will see more than 200 stalls exhibiting food and drink, alongside live music and other entertainment.

    The trust running Coventry's main hospital has been told it still needs to improve with inspectors highlighting patient care concerns in A&E and maternity services.

    The Care Quality Commission (CQC) says that's why it hasn't changed the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust's rating , externalfrom "requires improvement".

    As well as potential risks to patient care in some areas of urgent and emergency care and maternity, the CQC says it found not all staff had had mandatory training and discovered issues with some record-keeping.

    A man who dragged a pedestrian from the window of his van, leaving him with fatal injuries, has been jailed for at least 21 years for murder.

    Paul Emmerson grabbed 22-year-old Mohammed Miah in West Bromwich High Street in the early hours of 17 March this year, and sped off with him dangling through the window.

    Mr Miah was found lying on the road with serious head and chest injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Officers said the 38-year-old plumber, of Kemp Road, Kitts Green dragged Mr Miah for about 100 metres "at one stage accelerating through red lights".

    The Green Party has suspended a member who pulled out of the race to be its deputy leader after her father was jailed for child sex offences including the rape of a girl.

    Aimee Challenor, from Coventry, has been suspended on a "no fault basis" from the party following "consideration of a number of complaints that have been made against her," it said.

    In a statement, the party said: "In line with our procedures, the suspension will remain in place until the next meeting of the Green Party Regional Council, when it will be reviewed.

    "An investigation will be conducted by an external agency into the circumstances and disclosures surrounding Aimee's father being able to act as her election agent, while facing charges for serious sexual assault against a minor."

    A mother of a young boy who is predominantly deaf says her local council has failed her son.

    Last December, Jenny Lindop-Lamens from Sandbach, Cheshire, took seven-year-old Jenson out of a mainstream school as she says it was unable to provide a teaching assistant fluent in sign language.

    She says she was left for three months without contact from Cheshire East Council and says his legal paperwork hasn't been updated in nearly three years, leaving him without educational provision.

    The council says it runs a "robust process" to make sure a child's needs are met and this matter will be considered by a tribunal in November.
