A teenager has been stabbed in the back outside a pizza shop in Coventry.
Emergency services were called to King William Street in the Hillfields area of the city shortly before 19:00 on Sunday.
Before the stabbing, the teenager was chased by a group of masked men, West Midlands Police said.
The force adds he is in a stable condition in hospital where he is being treated for a punctured lung.
A dog has been caught on CCTV chasing a car in which it was driven to a street corner and abandoned.
The RSPCA has released the footage, calling it heartbreaking.
The charity is trying to trace a man in the car who is seen unclipping the dog's lead before running back to the vehicle and leaving.
It said the Staffordshire bull terrier and his bed were left at the corner of Timor Grove and Pacific Road in Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, last Monday evening.
The dog, named Snoop by staff at a vets, is being cared for at boarding kennels.
Christmas trees are being given away in Birmingham until 12:00.
The city council says the Frankfurt Market has a supply that is available at no cost from outside New Street's Apple Store.

Two people died in separate crashes in Shropshire at the weekend., external
The ambulance service said the first involved two cars at the junction of the A5 and B5009 (pictured) between Shrewsbury and Oswestry on Saturday morning.
One woman suffered serious injuries and died a short time after paramedics arrived.
On Sunday morning, a lorry and car collided on the A518 Wellington Road, Telford.
Paramedics said a man in the car died at the scene.

A man arrested over a crash in which a cyclist died has been released by police.
The cyclist, 51, was in collision with a Porsche Boxster just before 12:00 on Saturday in Eastcote Lane, Solihull.
A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
West Midlands Police has appealed for anyone with relevant dash-cam footage to get in touch.
Two men have been arrested over the theft of a cash machine in Warwickshire.
The device is understood to have been removed from a store on Loxley Close, Wellesbourne, before being loaded on to a flat bed-type vehicle, said Warwickshire Police.
It happened at about 02:15 on Saturday, with the machine since retrieved.
The arrested men, aged 22 and 34, have been released under investigation, the force says.
Police investigating homophobic graffiti sprayed on cars and buildings in Staffordshire have released a CCTV image in connection with their investigation.
A total of 26 cars and vans were spray-painted in Chadsmoor near Cannock in the early hours of Sunday.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said various streets were hit including Curlew Hill, Kelvin Drive and Huntington Terrace.
A man continues to be questioned over the death of a 90-year-old man who was struck by a car in a hit and run in Staffordshire.
The man was knocked down in Watling Street in Tamworth at about 22:45 GMT on Friday.

Preparations are under way to provide a Christmas Eve dinner for more than 200 homeless people in Birmingham.
The three-course meal, provided by a local charity, will be delivered on the concourse of Birmingham New Street station from 18:30.
Organiser Midlands Langar Seva said it would deliver a "VIP experience".
The event, which is expected to run until 21:30, will also see performances by carol singers and a DJ.

The council says until the dispute is resolved, waste will be collected without wagons separating material for recycling.
