Plans for a new £600,000 community hall in Pershore go before district councillors next week.
The town council is behind the proposals and says it will accommodate around 150 people in the main function room and have a meeting room, kitchen, toilets, changing facilities and family history room too.

The hall proposals were backed by 90% of the residents who attended a meeting to discuss the plans in 2017, but there have been some objections, including one from the civic society, which says the new building would be too far for most people to travel to.

A luxury boutique hotel in Coventry is set to be propped up by taxpayers’ cash, as the development “on its own is not financially viable”.

But the “significant costs” to redevelop the vacant buildings on Corporation Street make it unviable for developer Far Gosford Developments Limited, a council report said.
As a result, the council is proposing to sell adjacent sites at Chapel Street, Lamb Street and Bishop Street on 250-year leases, with the proceeds gifted to the developers.
The report is set to be discussed , externalby the council's cabinet on Tuesday 8 January.
The site in the heart of urban Birmingham delights youngsters but it is facing closure as funds run out.

The Shrewsbury Town manager Sam Ricketts says he understands why there are rumours that Dave Edwards might return to his hometown club - but he says they are nothing more than rumours.
He went on to say there had been no conversation between Shrewsbury and the midfielder's current club, Reading.
