    The death of a disabled woman who had all her teeth removed has led to questions being raised about the dental treatment of vulnerable patients.

    Rachel Johnston died two weeks after all her teeth were taken out at a dental service run by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, criticised for its drastic full extractions.

    The story prompted many people from around the UK to contact the BBC to share their own experiences of hospital dental surgery on people with learning disabilities, with some also telling of loved ones having all their teeth removed at once because of severe decay.

    The NHS Trust in Worcestershire insisted it followed the correct procedures for vulnerable patients, while three clinical commissioning groups are investigating Ms Johnston's death.

    But if plenty of people's diets already feature both food types, can it be considered a thing?

    Mark Breen is a chef from Birmingham and insists being a flexitarian has benefits beyond "half-hearted vegetarianism".

    A woman in her 90s has been found dead at an address in the Kingstanding area of Birmingham, police say.

    Police were called to the property in Chingford Road after the body was discovered by ambulance service workers at about 18:45 on Sunday.

    The death is being treated as unexplained, says the West Midlands force.

    A 57-year-old man, believed to be known to the woman, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, it adds.

    Thousands of children in England with special educational needs are waiting too long for an education, health and care plan (EHC), the BBC has learned.

    According to data, Worcestershire was among the areas with the longest individual wait for an EHC which sets out a child's needs and the support to which they are entitled.

    In the county, there was a wait of more than two years at 870 days. Council care statements should take 20 weeks., external

    Worcestershire County Council says it's dealt with an 80% increase in demand since 2017, and that a recruitment drive is under way for a new special educational needs service.

    Discount supermarket chain Aldi said it made almost £1bn in sales during December.

    The company, which has its UK headquarters in Atherstone, Warwickshire, said it had its best ever UK Christmas trading period - with the week of 17 December its busiest ever, with sales 10% higher than the previous year.

    During the month, customers bought 17m bottles of wine, champagne and prosecco.

    It also flogged nearly 50m mince pies and almost 100m sprouts.

    More than 200 MPs have signed a letter to Theresa May urging her to rule out a no-deal Brexit.

    It's been organised by two West Midlands MPs, Dame Caroline Spelman, Conservative member for Meriden, and Labour member for Birmingham Erdington, Jack Dromey. They say a no-deal outcome would cause job losses

    Those who have lent their name to the letter - including both Leave and Remain supporters - have been invited to meet the PM on Tuesday.

    A man charged with the murder of a woman found dead at her home on New Year's Eve is due to appear in court today.

    Michael Foran, 32, was the subject of a police manhunt following the discovery of June Jones's body at a flat in Wyndmill Crescent, West Bromwich.

    Ms Jones, 33, had been reported missing by her sister on 26 December.

    Mr Foran, of no fixed address, was arrested in Liverpool on Saturday and is set to appear at Walsall Magistrates' Court later.

    Firefighters have been tackling an ablaze camper van in a pub car park.

    Crews were called to the Avon Mill on Newbold Road, Rugby, shortly after 05:00.

    It's thought the fire was started deliberately and police have attended, said Warwickshire Fire Service.

    Two men arrested after a 31-year-old man was shot during a police operation in Coventry have been released.

    Sean Fitzgerald died on Friday after armed officers executed a warrant at an address in Burnaby Road as part of a "long-running criminal investigation".

    Two 26-year-olds were held on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis. One has been bailed and the second released under investigation.

    A crash has closed three lanes of the M42 southbound in Warwickshire between J8 and J7A.

    There's nine miles of queuing traffic in the area with delays of over an hour.
