    Officers investigating a fatal stabbing have released CCTV images , externalof two men they wish to trace.

    Stuart Roe, 34, from Brierley Hill, died on Springfield Drive, Halesowen, on 30 December.

    Martyn Turley, from Whitehouse Street in Tipton, has been charged with murder.

    West Midlands Police says the pair in the images are pictured on Springfield Road at about 01:20 on 30 December and are not suspects, but may have vital information.

    Concerns about the number of homes being built in Shifnal will be discussed at a public meeting later today.

    Plans for 1,000 new homes have already been approved and Shropshire Council's local development plan suggests there is room for more.

    The document sets out targets up to the year 2036 and says green belt land on the edge of town could be sacrificed to allow a large business park to be built, with a bypass created on the other side of town.

    Critics, who plan to attend the meeting at Shifnal Village Hall at 19:00, say they're worried about the pressure this will put on schools, doctors and roads and argue their town is seeing more development than others in the county.

    Bojan Krkic and Moritz Bauer have been offered a fresh chance to claim a place in the Stoke City line-up, after falling out of favour with former manager Gary Rowett.

    Both had been thought to be on their way out of the club, but new manager Nathan Jones said "if they buy into what we do, they have futures here".

    Jones went on to say he could see both fitting into the style of football he wanted to play and added "it'll be entirely down to them how they adapt".

    People in Bromsgrove are still waiting to move back into their homes after they were flooded last year.

    More than 300 properties in Wythall and Hollywood were damaged, forcing residents to relocate.

    Eight months on they're still unable to move back, despite being told by insurers they would be able to within a matter of weeks.

    There's been huge demand for a highly effective drug that reduces the risk of acquiring HIV.

    The NHS is carrying out trials of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) across England, but there are reports of people being turned away due to a lack of places.

    In 2017, an initial 10,000 places were made available at sexual health clinics for people at high risk of contracting HIV.

  8. JLR job cuts: Electric investment 'step in the right direction'published at 08:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

    A union official says he's hopeful the 4,500 job cuts announced by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) yesterday will be met through voluntary redundancy.

    Darren Hall, regional officer for Unite, said he accepted the company's need to "realign itself", adding Thursday's news of investment in electric technology at the Hams Hall and Wolverhampton plants was a "step in the right direction".

    JLR's chief executive Ralf Speth says the company is "facing unprecedented disruption" and is taking "decisive action to help deliver long-term growth". Watch him here:

    It was a big - and bad - news day for automotive workers on Thursday when Jaguar Land Rover and Ford announced jobs cuts.

    But shouldn't these car-makers have seen these problems coming?

    Tim Urquhart, principal automotive analyst at IHS Markit, tells BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "It is very difficult in hindsight to say [Jaguar Land Rover] should have seen everything coming down the line.

    "Yes, they probably have been a little bit slow to recognise the downturn in demand for diesel and the change in public sentiment away from diesel.

    "The problem that they have is that they make large SUV vehicles...so it is not just a case of them saying 'lets put everything into petrol vehicles or electric vehicles', even though they are investing very heavily in electrification and hybrids for the future."

    Plans to ban drones in parks and open spaces in Coventry have been put on hold by the city council.

    Following hundreds of complaints from hobbyists and those whose professional services rely on the devices, the authority has instead agreed to defer making a decision until it has collected information on how other councils regulate drone use.

    It has, however, agreed to allowing police to launch drones from council land.

  11. Travel: Breakdowns close M6 entry slip roadpublished at 07:31 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2019

    The M6 northbound entry slip road is closed - along with one lane of the main carriageway - at J12 in Staffordshire.

    Leftover debris from an earlier breakdown has caused a number of additional breakdowns at the same point.

    Traffic officers are working to clear the area.

    Plans to spend £200,000 to improve parks in Worcestershire have been approved by Wychavon district councillors.

    The project will include work on the cycle track at Charity Brook Park in Evesham (pictured below) and a new surface for the wet play area at Pershore's Abbey Park.

    Droitwich’s Lido Park would also see about £60,000 to improve footpaths, resurface the five-a-side court and replace the fence around the tennis court.

    Some of the work won't start until 2020 though.

  18. Thousands of illegal cigarettes seized in raidpublished at 18:21 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January 2019

    Approximately 31,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized by Herefordshire Trading Standards at a shop in Ross-on-Wye.

    It said the cigarettes had been imported without duty being paid.

    Two men were arrested by police at the scene following Saturday's raid.

    Last month, the authority seized 50,000 illegal cigarettes from two shops in Hereford and estimated the three hauls in total avoided about £32,000 in import duties.
