    The commander of Birmingham East neighbourhood policing unit where Holly Burke worked has said her death will have an impact on the officers who responded.

    The 28-year-old serving West Midlands Police Community Support Officer died when a car was being pursued by police, crashed into her car.

    Ch Supt Kenny Bell said: "There is no doubt that this tragic event will have an impact on those officers who responded and those who worked alongside her.

    "Holly has been taken from us too soon and as a police family we are feeling this."

    The death of a PCSO who died in a police chase is "truly tragic", the West Midlands Police and Crime Commisioner said.

    David Jamieson added: "She was greatly valued by West Midlands Police and the communities which she served.

    "My thoughts are with Holly’s family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time."

    The motorist who died in a collision in Bearwood last night has been named as Holly Burke, a serving West Midlands Police Community Support Officer (PCSO).

    Ms Burke, aged 28, was based at Nechells as part of the Washwood Heath neighbourhood team and had been a PCSO for 14 months, the force said.

    She was not on duty at the time and died at the scene. Her family has been informed.

    A 24-year-old man has been charged with possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and attempted wounding with intent after an incident at a health centre.

    Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to a report of an assault at Apsley Surgery on Church Terrace in Stoke-on-Trent on 18 January.

    A 58-year-old man was injured and taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

    The charged man will appear at crown court next month.

    Telford MP Lucy Allan says almost a year ago the authorities in Telford agreed to commission an inquiry into child sexual abuse in the town.

    She asked at Prime Minister's Questions: "Does the Prime Minister agree that the failure to hold the promised inquiry has let down victims and survivors?"

    Theresa May says the crimes are "utterly appalling" and the government has given "highest priority" to tackling child sexual abuse.

    "It's in the interest of victims and survivors for the inquiry to be set up as soon as possible."

    A CCTV image of a man would like to speak to in connection with an arson attack has been released.

    A stack of pallets were set alight at the rear of the B&M warehouse at Market Centre, Crewe on 17 January at about 19:40.

    The fire caused extensive damage to rear doors, outside lights and railings before it was put out,

    Police believe that the male in the CCTV image may be able to help with their investigation.

    An investigation is underway after a woman was "seriously injured" in a collision with a marked police car in Nuneaton today.

    Emergency services, including the Northamptonshire air ambulance, were called to the scene on Gypsy Lane, near Coventry Road, just after midday.

    Warwickshire Police officers at the scene gave the female pedestrian initial emergency treatment before she was taken to hospital.

    The police watchdog has been informed.

    Gypsy Lane and Coventry Road remain closed with warnings of delays.

    A pedestrian has died following a reported road traffic collision in Staffordshire last night.

    West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to reports of a seriously injured pedestrian on Horninglow Road in Burton-upon-Trent shortly after 22:30.

    Police were giving CPR to the man when ambulance staff arrived, a spokeswoman said.

    The man was confirmed dead a short time later.
