    The Sky Blues say they want to build a new stadium on the old Woodlands school site, after failing to reach a deal to play home games at the Ricoh Arena next season.

    They are in ground-share talks, but will face a vote on their expulsion from the Football League on 25 April.

    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire's Simon Gilbert uncovered the plans for the Woodlands site in Tile Hill and says the area has pros and cons.

  2. Car driver dies in M5 collisionpublished at 09:18 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    A woman has died in a collision involving the car she was driving and a 4x4 on the M5 motorway.

    It happened at about 05:40 on the northbound carriageway between junction 5 and 4a near Bromsgrove.

    An off-duty paramedic and bystanders were trying to help the car driver, West Midlands Ambulance Service says.

    A spokesman said: "Unfortunately, despite all efforts, it was not possible to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene."

    Two men in the 4x4 were assessed, but were unhurt and discharged at the scene.

    Oswestry's community cinema has been saved after a new lease was agreed on the building in which it's housed.

    Kinokulture had been struggling to agree a deal with the United Reform Church after the lease came up for renewal and feared it would have to close as a result.

    But after meetings between the two sides, a five-year deal has now been signed.

    Wolves are one point clear of eighth-placed Watford in the Premier League, after coming from behind to beat Manchester United 2-1 at Molineux.

    Diogo Jota (pictured right) equalised and an own goal from United defender Chris Smalling after 77 minutes proved to be the winner, after the visitors had captain Ashley Young sent off for two yellow-card offences.

    Jota has had a hand in nine goals in his last seven Premier League games at Molineux (six goals, three assists), having failed to score or assist a single goal in his first six there.

    The Unite union has welcomed the decision to bring Birmingham prison back under public control.

    It follows the termination of the contract with private security firm G4S.

    The company was signed to run the jail until 2026.

    In August last year, Peter Clarke, the chief inspector of prisons, said the jail had fallen into a "state of crisis" and was the worst he had come across.

    The Prison Service took it over, initially for six months, in August and will now run it permanently.

    Unite is calling for an end to all private sector contracts in English prisons.

  8. Bikes to be crushed after illegal 'Ride Out'published at 07:29 British Summer Time 3 April 2019

    West Midlands Police are to crush a number of bikes seized from men who took part in an illegal "Ride Out" in Birmingham and Solihull, terrifying other motorists.

    The bikes belonged to men who were convicted last month for causing public nuisance.

    It's believed to be the largest ever group prosecution for anti-social biking.
