MPs report Brexit death threatspublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 2 April 2019
Two West Midlands Conservative MPs have reported receiving death threats over their positions on Brexit.
The offices of the Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy and the Eddisbury MP Antoinette Sandbach say the threats have come by post and over the phone.
Staff working for Mr Lefroy say intimidating phone calls have been made to the constituency office and his office in London, and in one instance Mr Lefroy said notes were left on a car belonging to one of his staff while it was parked at his home overnight.
The nature of the notes was said to be graphic and the police say they are taking them seriously.
Both MPs have supported the prime minister's Brexit deal and in yesterday's indicative votes they supported staying in the EU single market.
