It is after someone wrote in asking for a public inquiry.

Chairman of the North Planning Committee Paul Wynn says action by the government to contact the council ahead of the planning meeting is unprecedented.

    Quote Message

I've never seen this happen before, before the actual meeting. They normally call it in after the decision has been made, but in this case they called it in before the decision was made, which is unheard of in my experience. I asked the planning officers how long it would be before they made their decision and they said to me 'how long is a piece of string' which must be frustrating for the applicants now it's been passed by the committee."

Wayne Madsen (pictured) hit an unbeaten 119 for Derbyshire.

Warwickshire head coach Jim Troughton feels his side lost because they did not post a competitive total.

    Quote Message

I think we were 40, 50 short on a really good wicket, quick outfield. To be 115 for 5 I think was just really disappointing for us - some really soft dismissals that put us under pressure."
