Officers from across the West Midlands region will be joining forces around the country in observing a minute's silence today in memory of PC Andrew Harper.
PC Harper, 28, was killed last week while responding to reports of a burglary in Sulhamstead, Berkshire.
Jed Foster, 20, of Pingewood, Burghfield, has been charged with his murder and was remanded into custody after appearing in court this week.
The silence is being held at 11:00.

A man's been caught on CCTV abandoning a cat outside a vet practice in the middle of the night.
The animal was dumped with a bag containing some food and treats outside White Cross Vets, Walsall, the RSPCA's said.
The charity said they believe she'd been left in the carrier for more than four hours and was visibly scared.
The four-day Shrewsbury Folk Festival starts today with the first musicians taking to the stage at 17:00.

David Perkins (pictured) suffered serious head injuries in the collision at the junction of Osler Street and Reservoir Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, on Wednesday.
The 65-year-old died in hospital. His family described him as the "most kind and loving person" and would be "terribly missed".
The 23-year-old man who was arrested has been released while police continue to investigate.

A daily pill containing four medicines can cut the number of heart attacks and strokes by a third, a study shows.
The polypill contains blood-thinning aspirin, a cholesterol-lowering statin and two drugs to lower blood pressure.
Researchers - in Birmingham, Iran and the USA , external- said the pill had a huge impact but cost just pennies a day.
They suggest giving it to everyone over a certain age in poorer countries, where doctors have fewer options and are less able to assess individuals.

Long delays are expected over the August bank holiday weekend on the M6 near Birmingham and in Staffordshire
More than 50 sets of roadworks are staying in place, including 18 miles on the M6 from J13 to 15, near Stafford, and 14 miles on the same motorway, near Birmingham, from J2 to J4.
On the railway Virgin Trains services on the West Coast Main Line will be reduced.
Services between London Euston and Holyhead will run between Crewe and Holyhead only.
In addition, industrial action is set to hit CrossCountry services on Sunday with passengers for services between Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland being asked not to travel.

A mother arrested on suspicion of child neglect after her 10-year-old son was found dead in a caravan in Birmingham is continuing to be questioned by police.
Emergency services were called to reports of a child unconscious at an address in Blossomville Way, Acocks Green, on Thursday morning.
He was taken to hospital where "nothing could be done to save him" and he was pronounced dead, West Midlands Police said. His death is "unexplained".
Officers confirmed the boy's 44-year-old mother was arrested and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
