    A car left a road and crashed into a wall at a block of flats.

    One man was taken to hospital with minor injuries and several residents had to leave their homes after the incident on Stone Road, Eccleshall, shortly before 21:00.

    Three flats were left "uninhabitable" with residents having to seek temporary accommodation, Staffordshire Fire Service said.

    Sixty dogs have been seized in a raid by a council.

    They were found at an address in Cannock, in Staffordshire, this morning, although the district council's not revealed why the search was carried out., external

    All it's said is that the team carried out a magistrates' warrant under the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

    The legislation sets out laws relating to animals and their treatment.

    His manager Sam Ricketts says Lang's foot is badly swollen and he'll almost certainly miss tomorrow's EFL Trophy game with Newcastle United U21.

    Two men from Birmingham have been arrested by police investigating the illegal killing and butchering of sheep.

    Northamptonshire Police said they had reports of suspicious activity last night in a field near Welford, on the border with Leicestershire. , external

    Officers said they found an offence under way and went on to stop a vehicle on the A14 just after 01:00.

    The two men, aged 23 and 35, were arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal damage and are still in custody.

    The force said the suspected offences were linked to its ongoing Operation Stock, which is investigating the illegal slaughter and theft of sheep across the county.

    Parents leaving cars idling outside a school's gates in Cannock are being targeted by children in a campaign against pollution.

    The pupils at Heath Hayes Primary Academy say they're taking the action as air pollution in the area is among the worst in the county.

    As well as encouraging parents to turn their ignition off, the children are also asking them to pledge to stop idling their cars in general.

    The school's been praised for the move by the county council as a "fantastic example" to other schools and staff say the pupils have more initiatives planned for the future.

    A police team dedicated to reducing rural crime has been launched in Warwickshire.

    The cost of rural crime has risen to £44.5m as organised criminal gangs target farm machinery, said NFU Mutual.

    The new team based at Greyes Mallory near Warwick is expected to build links with the rural community in an effort to tackle the issues of theft, fly-tipping and illegal butchering of sheep.

    Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe said it would send a message that "crime will not be tolerated in any part of Warwickshire, including our rural communities".

    Two men have been charged with murder after the death of a man who was attacked and robbed in his own home.

    Wheelchair user Robert Morrison, 69, was found injured in Grove Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham, at about 23:30 on 10 December. He died six days later in hospital, West Midlands Police said.

    The 31-year-old from Rugby is being questioned by officers.
