    About 20 properties have been damaged as a result of a burst water main this afternoon, a water company's confirmed.

    One home has partially collapsed.

    It happened at about 14:00 on Park Lane West, Tipton, Sandwell, and flooded the area until South Staffs Water cut off the main.

    They're now carrying out repairs, external.

    A man who drove at cyclists and police officers outside Parliament must serve at least 15 years in jail, a judge has said.

    Salih Khater, 30, of Highgate Street, Birmingham, aimed his car at members of the public before swerving towards the officers in Parliament Square on 14 August 2018.

    The court was told he tried to "kill as many people as possible" with his Ford Fiesta.

    CCTV footage showed how he careered into a security lane and crashed into barriers as two police officers jumped out of the way.

    A crowd of about 5,000 is likely to attend Wolves' Europa League match away to Slovan Bratislava on 24 October - even though it is officially being played behind closed doors.

    Uefa sanctioned the Slovak champions after fans made racist chants in a play-off game against PAOK of Greece.

    But Uefa rules will allow accompanied children aged 14 and under to attend.

    In addition, 200 Wolves fans will be allowed in to see the game, providing they hold "category one tickets".

    Wolves are currently third, with three points from two games. Slovan Bratislava top the group with four points, ahead of Braga on goal difference.

    Sir Cliff Richard will play a date in Birmingham as part of a nationwide tour to coincide with his 80th birthday.

    The entertainer will celebrate the milestone in October next year, with his first tour date taking place a month earlier.

    Sir Cliff will kick off The Great 80 Tour at the Gateshead Sage in September, before performing in cities including Glasgow, Blackpool and Birmingham.

    In July 2018, the star won a High Court case against the BBC over its coverage of a police raid on his home.

    He'll play Birmingham Symphony Hall on 29 September 2020.

    A homeless man has sold more than 200 of his self-designed canvas shopping bags.

    Kev, 44, from Bloxwich, who has been homeless for about five years, used to demonstrate his artistic talents by selling drawings on the streets of Birmingham.

    But thanks to one customer, he began The Bag Issue project, helping other homeless people along the way.

    Kev draws his designs on to the bags and sells them on the city's streets, asking for a small donation in return.

    A man and his dog have been found dead in their home several days after his armchair caught fire, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service's said., external

    The 77-year-old was discovered dead along with his border collie on Friday at a house on Folly Lane, Cheddleton.

    The fire service said it believed the fire started on Monday 7 October and the man tried to tackle it before being overcome by the smoke.

    The blaze is thought to have been down to his armchair being too near an open fire without any fire guard in between.

    A man named on an injunction preventing protests outside the school gates at Anderton Park School, Birmingham claimed they had been forced to take the action after the school failed to engage with them.

    An injunction has been granted against protests outside the school gates about their teaching of same sex relationships.

    Birmingham City Council is making an application for it to be made permanent.

    Shakeel Afsar said before the protests "for several weeks we tried to communicate with the school".

    "We have very limited resources and we are fighting an establishment with endless resources.

    "This is David and Goliath here."

    Two men have been charged after a man was stabbed in the back in Coventry, police say.

    The 35-year-old victim is in a stable condition in hospital after two men forced their way into his home in Lyndale Road.

    The two, aged 20 and 23, have been charged with robbery.

    From photos posted on Facebook by Sandwell Council, the supply appears to have now been cut off and flood water has subsided.

    The local authority said Park Lane West remained closed, external at the junction with Manor Road.
