    A fault with the signalling system at Shrewsbury is affecting rail services.

    West Midlands Rail said services running through the station may be cancelled or delayed, with disruption expected to last all day.

    We told you moments ago about problems that had eased on the M6 northbound. But in the other direction, there have been more issues.

    Two southbound lanes have been closed following a collision between a lorry and a car.

    Highways England says traffic officers are en route to the scene between Junction 16 for Barthomley in Cheshire and J15 for Hanchurch, Staffordshire.

    It is warning of delays of up to 70 minutes, with six miles of congestion back to J17.

    All lanes have been reopened on the M6 northbound in Staffordshire , externalafter being shut for more than six hours following a crash.

    The collision just after 07:00 had forced the closure of the whole carriageway between J14, for Stafford, and J15, for Stoke-on-Trent.

    Homes are being sought for 60 dogs recovered from a property which police said was linked to a suspected puppy farm.

    The animals were removed from the address in Cannock last month and police are continuing to investigate the case.

    In the meantime, the district council says the Dogs Trust charity has taken charge of finding permanent homes , externalfor the dogs and will begin rehoming from 11 November.

    They include chihuahua, German Shepherd and bullmastiff types.

    A cyclist has been seriously injured after being hit by a car in Coventry.

    The crash happened shortly before 07:15 on the A444 Jimmy Hill Way at the junction with the B4109.

    The man was taken to hospital, said the ambulance service.

    A teenager has been charged with murder after a man was fatally injured.

    The 24-year-old died of suspected stab injuries in Meadow Road, Rugby, on Thursday.

    A 17-year-old boy is set to appear at Warwickshire Magistrates' Court later.

    A 16-year old boy and 21 year-old woman, both arrested on suspicion of murder, have been bailed while inquiries continue.

    A driver was injured when their car smashed into a house in Herefordshire, ripping off half of the front porch.

    The Brexit Party general election candidate for Dudley South has quit the party and endorsed the Conservative runner.

    Paul Brothwood (pictured second on the left) had been selected to contest the seat but said voting for the Brexit Party could split polling among Brexit supporters, thereby weakening the chances of delivering the referendum result.

    The former Wordsley councillor said: "It feels good to be back in the Conservative family."

    The seat has been won by Conservative Mike Wood in the last two general elections.

    Nominations for the 12 December vote close on 14 November, after which a full list of candidates for other parties will feature on the BBC's Dudley South constituency webpage.

    In the meantime, BBC Sunday Politics reports that despite Mr Brothwood's departure, the Brexit Party is set to field a candidate for the seat:

    A feast of light, dance and music inspired by Diwali was held in Coventry on Sunday.

    The carnival of lights procession took place along the city's Foleshill Road and into the city centre.

    It included dhol drummers and illuminated umbrellas as well as 100 community-made lanterns.

    the event was part of Coventry City of Culture Trust’s programme of events in the run up to 2021.

    The body of Donna Lane, from Tettenhall, was discovered on Dirtyfoot Lane, Lower Penn, on Saturday afternoon.

    Staffordshire Police is appealing for anyone who saw her between Friday evening and her discovery to come forward.

    Drivers are being told to avoid the M6 northbound in Staffordshire, external as the carriageway's still shut after a crash this morning.

    The collision happened just after 07:00 between J14 and J15, near Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford.

    Once that's done, the organisation says it'll release drivers stuck in the contraflow, part of long-term roadworks on the M6.
