    CCTV images of two men on bikes have been released by police investigating a stabbing in Birmingham.

    A man in his 20s suffered three deep stab wounds, which West Midlands Police said, external were serious but not life-threatening, during disorder on Aston Lane, Aston on 3 November.

    Another man, also in his 20s, was punched in the face and had minor injuries.

    Officers said they wanted to speak to the two men in the CCTV images as they may have information about what happened.

    Cannabis plants with a street value thought to be in excess of £150,000 have been seized by police in Wolverhampton.

    A teenager charged with attempted murder is due in court later, external after a 16-year-old was stabbed in Stoke-on-Trent.

    The attack happened at a house on Keelings Drive on Sunday, external and the boy suffered several stab wounds.

    His condition in hospital's described as stable.

    The 17-year-old's also charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

    Inquests are going to open today into the deaths of a man and a woman who were killed by London Bridge attacker Usman Khan on Friday.

    Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, from Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, were both attending a prisoner rehabilitation event when the attack took place.

    Ms Jones has been described as a "lovely, lovely woman" who was "fearless" by her former tutor.

    The inquests will be opened and adjourned at the Old Bailey.

    Ten-man Burton came from behind to grab a League One point from a home draw with strugglers Southend in a feisty affair at the Pirelli Stadium.

    The Shrimpers stunned their hosts by taking a 21st minute lead through Stephen McLaughlin and Burton had John-Joe O'Toole sent off before Scott Fraser levelled early in the second half.

    McLaughlin had already seen Burton goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara push one goalbound header onto the crossbar on the quarter of an hour mark before he met a Brandon Goodship corner to head emphatically home.

    The result moved Burton to 12th in League One.

    A man's been arrested after part of Coventry city centre was cordoned off last night following reports of a weapon being fired from a flat window.

    Armed police were called to the scene in Broadgate and casings recovered suggested a blank firing pistol was used, West Midlands Police said.

    A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearms. , external

    Officers said there were no reports of any injuries.

    London Bridge attacker Usman Khan attended two counter-terrorism programmes that had not been fully tested to see if they were effective, BBC News has discovered.

    Khan, who was convicted of a terrorism offence in 2012, killed Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, from Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, on Friday.

    Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, he had completed two rehabilitation schemes during the eight years he spent in prison and following his release.

    Since his release from prison in December 2018, Khan had been living in Stafford and was required to wear a GPS tag.

    The government says such programmes are kept "under constant review".
