The officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Ascott Close in Bedworth on Monday, police said.
One of the officers suffered a minor face injury the other was uninjured, the Warwickshire force added.
The 35-year-old from the town remains in police custody.

A pregnant woman has criticised the fact she can eat out with friends – but current rules prevent her husband from being there for the whole of her labour and other related appointments.
Sarah-Jayne Lutwyche, of Castle Bromwich, is due to give birth at the end of November.
The 33-year-old fitness coach said it seemed odd that she could enjoy a meal in a group of six but her husband Tom, who she lives with, couldn’t join her in the birthing room until a certain point.
“I don’t think it makes a difference having him in the room with a mask on when you can go and meet people at restaurants and the pub and things like that,” she said.
“I just feel that he should be there from start to finish."

An 18-year-old man has been charged after a man was attacked during a party in Witherley.
Police were called to a property on Hunt Lane at 23:15 on Friday where they found a 20-year-old man with "serious head injuries".
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The man, from Nuneaton, was arrested on Sunday and later charged with Section 18 causing grievous bodily harm.
Leicestershire Police said he has been remanded in custody to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court later.
A 17-year-old and a 21-year-old, who were also arrested, have been released with no further action.

A student caught up in the coronavirus spread at at Manchester Metropolitan University has been helped out by her mum delivering food.
Caitlin Ritchie from Solihull has been self isolating with seven flatmates since Saturday and said they were "unable to leave for a second of the day."
Apart from attending online lectures she said the eight had been watching a lot of television.
"We watch a lot of Doctor Who, that's been getting us through," she said.
Her mum had "really pulled through," by delivering food to the accommodation, she said, "because I did not have enough to get me through the week.
"I'm glad I'm here because I'm enjoying making new friends however I wish this wasn't my first year university experience, it wasn't at all what I had planned."
A member of the public called police after seeing the woman and a young child be put in a car.

Daniel Baird, 26,was murdered when a dispute between two groups of men spilled outside the Forge Tavern in Digbeth, Birmingham, in July 2017.
His mother, Lynne Baird, set up a foundation to produce specialist first aid kits to try to reduce deaths from knife attacks.
She said she was "so happy" to have been announced as a finalist for the Pride of Britain Fundraiser of the Year for the Central region.
"It’s nice to be recognised," she said, "but it’s not about me it’s about the charity and I couldn’t have done it on my own."
She was congratulated by West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson who called her a "tireless campaigner."

A Birmingham mother of three whose business plan was brought to a halt by lockdown has seen her fortunes change - and it is all thanks to an electric bike called Babs.
Jas Sandhu had planned to create a firm delivering food to office workers in the city until Covid-19 restrictions left many offices empty.
Instead, the 40-year-old has created Pedalling Pantry, a plastic-free, fruit and veg delivery service.
She cycles to Birmingham Wholesale Market four mornings a week to buy produce that she then delivers to households across the city.
