    A man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl.

    Officers were called to reports of the assault involving a 16-year-old near an alley at the rear of Yates Street, Crewe at about 21:00 on Sunday.

    The area was cordoned off for a time but this has now been lifted.

    The 60-year-old man remains in poolice custody, said Cheshire Police.

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after a warrant was executed at an address in Rugby.

    Cash was seized from the property in Millbeck on Friday, said Warwickshire Police.

    The 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

    He has been released under investigation.

    A World War Two grenade and mortar have been "made safe" at an elderly man's home in Solihull this morning by Army bomb disposal experts.

    The 63-year-old was detained following an incident in Stamford Gardens, Leamington Spa on Sunday evening.

    Officers were initially called to reports of a disturbance in the street, said Warwickshire Police.

    He remains in custody for questioning, the force added.

    The coronavirus pandemic has been particularly challenging for discount supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl, the UK head of Aldi has admitted in an interview with the BBC.

    Giles Hurley acknowledged his company had not benefited from the boom in online shopping in the way its rivals had - and added that Aldi is now trialling several new concepts, including a rapid delivery service and a click and collect service.

    Parts of the motorway network in the West Midlands have had the speed limit reduced in a trial to reduce pollution.

    From today, it has been reduced from 70mph to 60mph in areas that have seen higher than recommended levels of nitrogen dioxide.

    It will be on M6 junctions 6 to 7 by Witton, Birmingham, and M5 junctions 1 to 2 by Oldbury.

    Four of Shropshire’s natural landscapes are set to be designated as nature reserves while plans to designate four others have been put on hold.

    Shropshire Council’s cabinet is being asked to approve the designation of Nesscliffe Country Park, Llanymynech Heritage Area, Lyth Hill and Poles Coppice in order to formally "recognise their value, attract more visitors and offer an extra layer of protection from development," a report says.

    The council has legal powers to designate new local nature reserves, and a report to cabinet ahead of a meeting next week says the heightened status for the four council-owned sites, covering almost 120 hectares (297 acres) of land between them, will bring considerable benefits including the ability to attract external funding.

    The report due to be considered next week says Natural England has been consulted and is supportive of the proposals.

    A Solihull golf club's claim to be the home of the longest hold in the UK has been challenged by a course on a small Scottish island.

    Now, however, the Orkney island of Westray has come forward with a par six at a hefty 738 yards (2,214ft).
