  3. Residents 'worried' about chemical storage applicationpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 16 August 2016

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

A planning application to store 49 tonnes of a flammable chemical at Alconbury Weald was the hot topic at a parish meeting in the Stukeleys yesterday.

The company IKO, which makes insulation, wants to store isopentane in underground tanks at the Enterprise Park just north of Huntingdon.

But people living nearby say they're worried about having a "potentially explosive" substance so close to people's homes.

Speaking to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Karl Gasson, chairman of The Stukeleys Parish Council, said: "It's not very distant from our homes... I think people are concerned because they don't know enough about it... we do like to know what's going on and this time we don't."

We'll bring you IKO's response shortly.

    Jonathan Park
    BBC Look East sport

I've been to visit where it all began for Cambridgeshire's watersport heroes of Rio 2016.

Huntingdon's guaranteed gold medallist Giles Scott first sailed at Grafham Water, with silver-winning windsurfer Nick Dempsey learning his trade at Ferry Meadows near Peterborough.

Yesterday I met Matt French, chief instructor at Grafham Water Sailing Club, and Theresa Wood, from the Nene Park Trust at Ferry Meadows, who told me about the pair's legacy.

There's a celebratory sailing event today at Grafham Water which I'll report from later on.

The county's been pretty orchestral in Team GB's medal haul so far, providing four of them.

But where would Cambridgeshire stand in the Olympic medal table if we add up Giles Scott's gold (he's guaranteed one today), Louis Smith and Nick Dempsey's silvers and Dan Goodfellow's bronze?

Well, right between Belarus and Romania...

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

First up this morning... and I'm afraid it's bad news if you're an early riser, like many members of the team here (eeek).

A study by the University of Cambridge has found that viruses are more dangerous when they infect their victims early in the day.

The findings show viruses are 10 times more successful if the infection starts in the morning.

And if you're a shift-worker, the report found that a disrupted body clock was always vulnerable to infection.

But the researchers say the findings could lead to new ways of stopping pandemics.
