    Amelia is the most popular girls name in the West Midlands while Muhammad is the most popular for boys, according to the Office for National Statistics. 

    Only London had Muhammad as the most popular choice in 2014 but the new figures show the West Midlands has joined the capital in 2015 for having the most babies with that name. Oliver was most popular overall across England and Wales.

    There were 649 Muhammads born in the West Midlands in 2015 compared with 622 Olivers. An alternative spelling - Mohammed - is also in the top 10.

    For girls regionally, the top choice, Amelia, was the same as the overall favourite in England and Wales.

    The data also shows the West Midlands to have a higher proportion of girls named Jessica than anywhere else. It ranks third for popularity in the region.

    The M5 is blocked with delays and queuing traffic northbound after J4, A38 (Bromsgrove), because of an accident. Congestion to J5, A38 , BBC Travel news reports.

    There's also a lane closed with slow traffic and delays on the M42 northbound between J5, A41 (Solihull) and J6, A45 (Birmingham Airport), because of an incident. Congestion to J3a M40.

    And in Penn the A449 Penn Road is closed with queuing traffic southbound at the Wynn Road junction because of an overturned vehicle. Police are directing traffic with diversions in operation - National Express West Midlands bus services 255 & 256 are being diverted.

    West Midlands Police is to recruit more than 1,000 new staff, including 800 officers. 

    The force will take on new PCs, as well as 150 police community support officers, external and 200 specialist staff.

    Commissioner David Jamieson says the recruitment, over three years, is possible after an efficiency drive. 

    It comes after some 500 officers forced to retire from the force were among those who lost an age discrimination case last year.
