    The 27-year-old Birchfield Harrier's time of 9.96 seconds was also the quickest time by a Briton this year.

    Of Britons, only Linford Christie and James Dasaolu have run 100m faster.

    The Coventry-born athlete  who won't be at Rio 2016, was part of the  four-man bobsleigh team that came fifth in the 2014 Winter Olympics.

    Seven people were arrested and 15 off-road bikes seized by police in a series of raids., external

    Addresses in Coventry and Birmingham were targeted following complaints about quad bikes and scramblers being ridden illegally.

    The seven, aged between 17 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of a range of offences, including causing a public nuisance, criminal damage and possession of drugs.

    A 19-year-old woman was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Coventry yesterday.

    Police say she's being treated for non-life-threatening injuries after the crash on Burnaby Road at around 18:45.

    The road was shut for more than three hours while investigations were carried out.

    Northamptonshire pace bowler Olly Stone will join Warwickshire on a three-year deal at the end of the 2016 season.  

    Eight counties had made approaches for the 22-year-old, who is currently sidelined by a serious knee injury.

    Replacement buses are running from Didcot to Oxford and to Coventry, and between Bicester North and Leamington Spa today as two sets of engineering works get underway.

    The line between Oxford and Didcot Parkway will be closed for 16 days for flood prevention work at Hinksey.

    At the same time, nine days of signalling improvements will shut the track between Oxford and Banbury.
