    Rail companies including Virgin Trains and CrossCountry will trial a new ticketing system from May, aimed at giving passengers the cheapest fares.

    It's part of an overhaul of the entire system, with East Midland trains also taking part.

    It's estimated people could save up to £260 per journey.

    Nuneaton Town say they've increased the capacity at Liberty Way to 3,200.

    The moves comes amid a ground share row with Nuneaton Rugby Club which recently saw skips left by the entrance, blocking a turnstile.

    statement on Town's website, external said it had taken the "commercial decision to reconfigure the stadium" so that access was no longer required over land to the south of the stadium.

    It says the work has been completed in time for Saturday's FA Trophy game against York, and could still rise to 4,100 after future works.

    Talks are needed with the wider community about how to keep the Coventry's Godiva Festival going, says the city council announcing this year's event will run between 7 and 9 July.

    The authority says additional financial support is required to secure the quality and scale of the free music festival and could be achieved through sponsorship or working with private partners.

    Last year, 140,000 people attended the event in War Memorial Park which included performances from The Boomtown Rats and Scouting for Girls.

  16. High insurance costs putting drivers off hybrids, says reportpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2017

    Higher insurance costs for electric and hybrid cars are putting off drivers from making the switch, says research from the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI).

    It says just 11% of Coventry residents believe increased premiums are a price worth paying to buy or lease low emission vehicles, compared to around 20% in Birmingham and London.

    The IMI says insurers charge more to cover hybrid cars because of the higher purchase price and lack of skilled technicians to repair them.

    It's calling on ministers to invest in training and create a fund to promote emission-free vehicles.

    Coventry North West MP Geoffrey Robinson is one of 73 MPs to have signed a motion calling for Donald Trump to be banned from addressing parliament during his State Visit to Britain.

    A petition calling for the state visit to be cancelled has gathered more than 1.6 million signatures; a rival pro-visit petition has more than 90,000.

    The MPs - mostly Labour - say that any invitation should be withdrawn in protest at the President's decision to introduce travel bans in the United States on a number of mainly Muslim countries, his views on the reintroduction of torture and his comments on women.
